The wide receiver position is often one of the most fun to discuss heading into a fantasy football season. At least one player comes out of the woodwork every year, someone who was not expected to be relevant.
Last year’s, of course, was Puka Nacua, a rookie who burst onto the scene for the Los Angeles Rams. Who will be this year’s Nacua? It’s difficult to determine, and there isn’t likely to be a rookie who plays that well, but that remains to be seen.
While everyone in your fantasy drafts is going to be well-versed in players like Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, and A.J. Brown, they might not be as aware of players taken later in the draft. That’s why we’re here! We will walk through our favorite sleepers at the position, all of which are currently being taken with pick 100 or later on Underdog. Let’s get into it!
We were pretty shocked to see how low Odunze’s ADP was coming into the season. Sure, he’s a rookie, but seeing how well Caleb Williams played in the Chicago Bears’ first preseason game, there’s reason to believe that this offense will see a lot of passing volume.
That’s great for players like Odunze, who are trying to get their foot in the door to begin their NFL careers. Odunze was a first-round draft pick for a reason and pairing him with Williams should be a match made in heaven.
If you know you can get Odunze in the later rounds, it might not be a bad idea to stack up on a few running backs in earlier rounds.
Khalil Shakir might be one of the most undervalued players in fantasy football. This ADP of WR60 is crazy in our eyes, as we see him as a must-draft asset this year.
The Buffalo Bills are going to be a wildcard this year in terms of who will be catching the ball, but with limited options, Shakir is going to get his fair share down the stretch.
He might not have the ceiling of a WR1 for the entire season, but if can pan out as a WR2 on your team, you’ll certainly take that, especially since you’ll get him late in the draft. Plus, his quarterback is Josh Allen. What could go wrong?
Wicks is going right behind Shakir in Underdog drafts, and we again think that is a mistake. The Green Bay Packers offense is slated to be even better than they were last year, and with another offseason to gain traction with Jordan Love, Wicks could have a massive role.
We have no idea what Christian Watson’s health will look like throughout the course of the season, and behind Romeo Doubs, it seems like all of the Packers receivers, including Wicks, will get a fair shot at meaningful targets.
