This week, we’re playing the $1.5 million NFL Sunday Million contest on FanDuel. With a $60,000 salary, we’ll build a nine-position roster to compete for a grand prize of $300,000 with a $5 entry fee.
Last week, our DFS selections were good enough to double your money as we chose three wide receivers that had a combined 102.1 points alone.
This week, we’ll stick to the same strategy of being big spenders on our wide receivers. Here’s how we spent every dollar on a roster chocked-full of value and upside.
While Philadelphia’s defense has been dominant at times, the Eagles are among the league’s worst against QBs. The Eagles have allowed 24.50 points on average through their first four games, allowing opponents to throw for 279 yards and 2.25 TDs per game.
Los Angeles Rams veteran QB Matthew Stafford knows how to carve up a stingy defense, and adding WR Cooper Kupp back into his lineup will give Stafford two of his favorite targets (along with rookie WR Puka Nacua) to feast on the Eagles.
Expect Stafford to approach 300 yards with at least two TDs to give your DFS lineup a solid performance Sunday.
When you’re looking for two DFS players with tremendous upside for Week 5, look no further than New York Jets RB Breece Hall and Baltimore Ravens RB Gus Edwards.
Thanks to soft matchups against two of the NFL’s worst rushing defenses, these backs can be rostered at a discount compared to other feature backs with tougher opponent defenses.
And both RBs will be featured in their team’s offense this week, giving DFS owners a reliable value with these selections.
We’re picking the two highest salaried WRs this week by selecting the Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill and the Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson. Hill has a favorable matchup against the Giants as New York has allowed QBs to complete more 63 percent of their passes to WRs this season.
Jefferson’s matchup against Kansas City is less favorable, but it’s hard to go against a WR that earned more than 30 fantasy points last week in a similar situation.
Tennessee Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins may look like a stretch, the Indianapolis Colts – Hopkins’ Week 5 foes – are allowing 26.5 fantasy points to WRs through their first four games.
Hopkins is the team leader in targets (31) and receptions (18) in 2023, hauling in 216 yards. Expect the Titans veteran WR to have a strong outing Sunday and consider placing another prop bet on Hopkins this week.
We’ll continue our theory of a strong performance for the Rams Sunday against Philadelphia. While Stafford clearly favors Nacua and Kupp, TE Tyler Higbee is in line for a strong performance against the Eagles.
Philadelphia ranks 31st against opposing TEs, allowing QBs to convert 84 percent of the TE targets into receptions. Higbee stands to gain significant offensive share this weekend, making him a must-have receiver for your DFS lineup in Week 5.
Baltimore Ravens rookie WR Zay Flowers has had an excellent debut, nabbing 24 of 29 targets for 244 yards. His worst outing came in week three, catching eight passes for 48 yards with a two-yard run.
Although he has not caught a TD this season, expect Flowers to find open space against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense allowing opponents’ WR to net 30 fantasy points per contest. Only two other teams have allowed more fantasy points to WRs on average this season.
Facing off against the Carolina Panthers, the Detroit Lions will be one of the NFL’s best defenses in Week 5. Panthers QB Bryce Young has struggled through the first four weeks, tossing for 503 yards and two TDs with two INTs.
Carolina prefers to run, but the Lions are the NFL’s best defense against the rush by limiting opponents to under 61 yards per outing. Expect Detroit to shut down Carolina and add solid fantasy value to your DFS lineup.
