In April of 2019, the state introduced HB 1327, which was a bill written by house majority leader Alec Garnet that would allow for legal and regulated sports betting in the state.

In November of 2019 the bill passed by the absolute smallest of margins (less than 1%). At this point, sports betting would be live in the state as soon as a process for regulating the industry could come available.
Finally, in May of 2020, the first group of sportsbooks launched their online sportsbooks. This group included FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, and BetRivers.
