Tuesday night at Prudential Center has the kind of marquee matchup that makes you hit the couch early. The Edmonton Oilers (11-2-2) roll into Newark to face the New Jersey Devils (9-5-0) at 7:30 PM ET, finishing a three-game tri-state swing against a Devils club that just returned home from a road trip with wins in Dallas and Vegas. Connor McDavid is the main event, but plenty of other storylines are worth the price of admission.

Books have the Devils as modest favorites at roughly -150 with the Oilers around +135, and the total sits at 6 to 6.5 goals. That is a great setup for a same game parlay built around fireworks: the second-highest-scoring team in the league against a Devils squad that leads the NHL in high-danger shots per game. Here is a four-leg SGP that leans into the entertainment value.

Leg 1: Over 5.5 Total Goals

The Oilers average 4.20 goals per game, second in the league behind Colorado, and New Jersey is no slouch either, averaging 3.8 goals per game over its last 10 while firing 30.5 shots a night. With most books hanging the total at 6.5, dropping to the 5.5 alternate gives you a cushion, since you only need six goals to cash.

The Devils generate chances in bunches, ranking first in the NHL in high-danger shots per game and second in shots on goal, and Edmonton has already been in a few track meets this year, including a 7-2 loss to Toronto. The Oilers are also banged up, with Zach Hyman, Matt Savoie, Alec Regula and Devon Levi on injured reserve and Frederik Andersen out until December, so their goaltending is a question mark. That all points toward a game with traffic at both ends. Prices on the alternate 5.5 line vary by book, so check yours before you lock it in.

Leg 2: Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal (+130)

If you want one name to carry the scoring, Draisaitl is it. He has 12 goals in 15 games, tops on the Oilers and ahead of McDavid’s nine, and he has nine goals and 10 assists over his last 10 games. The +130 anytime goal price reflects how often he finds the net, and it is a fun number for a player who is shooting this well.

A shooter on this kind of heater is the perfect centerpiece for a goal-heavy parlay, and he correlates nicely with the over. If Edmonton blows past five goals, there is a good chance Draisaitl has a hand in it.

Leg 3: Evan Bouchard 1+ Point

Bouchard is the Oilers’ quiet fireworks machine. The defenseman has 26 points in 15 games, third in the NHL behind McDavid and Draisaitl, including eight goals and 18 assists, and he has been held off the scoresheet only twice all season. He opened the year with a hat trick and a five-point game against Vancouver, and he logs nearly 26 minutes a night.

If Edmonton scores a handful, odds are strong Bouchard is involved in at least one of those goals. The price on a 1+ point leg is short, so treat it as the glue that keeps the parlay together, and shop around for the best number. A quick read on how betting odds work helps when you compare books.

Leg 4: Nico Hischier 2+ Shots on Goal

The Devils need their captain involved, and Hischier is a steady shooter who sees top-line minutes. The market has his shots line at 2.5 with a price hovering near even money, which makes a 2+ shots ladder rung a friendlier number on the safer side of that line. New Jersey ranks second in the league in shots on goal, so the volume should be there against an Oilers team leaning on a patched-up goaltending group.

This leg helps the parlay for a simple reason: a Devils team peppering Edmonton’s net is also a team pushing the game total over. It is the same story told from the other side of the ice.

The Full Parlay

Put it together and you get a four-leg ticket: over 5.5 total goals, Draisaitl to score anytime, Bouchard to record a point, and Hischier to register at least two shots on goal. Every leg feeds off the same script, a fast, high-event game where both offenses get theirs. Combined odds depend on your sportsbook and how it prices the correlated legs, so build it in your app and confirm the final number before you place it.
