Saturday afternoon hockey in Newark is the kind of slate that makes a same-game parlay feel like a party. The Los Angeles Kings (2-4-2) visit the New Jersey Devils (6-4-0) at Prudential Center at 3:30 PM ET, and there is plenty of storyline to go around: a Devils team that just made a blockbuster trade for goalie Connor Hellebuyck, and a Kings team that finally found its footing with two straight wins.

New Jersey is sitting around -160 on the moneyline with a total of 5.5, which tells you the books expect a game with some juice in it. Our three-leg SGP leans into the star power on both benches: Artemi Panarin to record a point, Jack Hughes to record a point, and the game going over 5.5 goals. Prices move, so check your sportsbook for the final number on each leg before you build the slip.

Leg 1: Panarin to Score a Point (-165)

Panarin is the best reason to watch the Kings right now. He has six goals and nine points in eight games, and he is coming off a two-goal night in the 3-2 overtime win over the Islanders on Thursday. That followed a three-point game at Washington, so he has five points in his last two outings and is skating on a line with Alex Laferriere and Adrian Kempe.

At -165, you are paying a real price, but Panarin is the engine of a Kings offense that is missing Anze Kopitar for the first time since 2005 and Kevin Fiala as well. When a team is thin, the top guy tends to touch everything, and that is exactly the profile you want for a points prop.

Leg 2: Jack Hughes to Record a Point

If Panarin is the Kings’ engine, Jack Hughes is the Devils’ whole show. Hughes leads New Jersey with 11 points, including a team-high eight assists, and he had a goal and an assist in Thursday’s 4-1 win over Anaheim. He skates between Arseny Gritsyuk and Jesper Bratt, and that line has combined for seven goals and 16 points over the past five games.

Gritsyuk is the hot hand, with a goal in four straight games and five goals in his last six, which means Hughes is often one pass away from a point. Hughes’s anytime goal prop has been sitting around +165, so a points prop is the safer way to back him. Check your book for the exact price, since it will vary, and it is worth converting the odds if you want to see the implied probability.

Leg 3: Over 5.5 Total Goals

The total is set at 5.5, and the over has been priced anywhere from about -115 to -134 depending on the book. That is a lot of juice, but there are good reasons to like it. The Devils have scored four goals in back-to-back wins, and the Kings just played overtime on Thursday, so neither team is exactly locking things down.

The wild card is New Jersey’s crease. Hellebuyck was acquired in a trade with Winnipeg on Friday, but the Devils’ projected lineup lists Jake Allen as the starter, with Darcy Kuemper expected in the Kings’ net. A brand-new goalie who has not played a game for his team yet is not a bad situation to be on the over, as the Devils are still working out how their defensive structure looks with him behind it.

The Full Parlay

Put it together and you have Panarin to record a point, Jack Hughes to record a point, and Over 5.5 goals. Together, the three legs tell one story: two elite playmakers who are heating up, plus a game environment with enough offense to cash all of them. Each leg is priced separately, so check your book for the combined payout. If you want to see what a parlay like this pays before you place it, our payout calculator does the math for you.
