EveryMatrix announced on May 19 that it has received conditional licensing approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission, allowing it to supply its platform and content technologies to licensed operators in Alberta. The approval comes as Alberta prepares to launch a regulated iGaming market in July 2026, making it the second Canadian province after Ontario to open its online casino and sports betting market to competitive operators.

EveryMatrix is a Malta-headquartered B2B iGaming technology provider with a platform that covers casino software, sports betting infrastructure, and game aggregation. The company also produces its own game content through in-house studio Fantasma Games. It has been licensed in Ontario since 2022 and holds approvals in New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania in the United States, making Alberta a natural extension of its existing North American presence.

Alberta’s Path to Regulated iGaming

Alberta is Canada’s fourth-largest province by population and has been developing its regulated online gaming framework with an eye toward Ontario’s successful model. Ontario’s April 2022 competitive market launch has been widely studied as a template for how Canadian provinces can transition from government-controlled lottery monopolies to multi-operator regulated systems while maintaining consumer protection standards. Alberta’s July 2026 target date would make it the first province to open after Ontario in what many in the industry expect will eventually become a broader national trend.

EveryMatrix said it has already secured commercial agreements in Alberta for both platform technology and in-house content, meaning the conditional license is the final structural requirement before it can begin operations. At launch, the company will offer Fantasma Games titles alongside its aggregated catalog of third-party content from across the global iGaming market. For operators evaluating the Alberta opportunity, EveryMatrix’s approval status signals that the province’s licensing process is moving forward on schedule and that established suppliers are prepared for a July launch. The opening of Alberta’s market is expected to attract significant operator interest, particularly from brands that are already active in Ontario and looking to extend their Canadian footprint.
