You don't have to wait for Saturday for some college football. The ACC provides a nice matchup on Friday with Virginia Tech taking on Miami. The Hurricanes are currently a large favorite, but anything can happen in this conference.

After taking an opening loss to Vanderbilt, this Hokies team won back-to-back games over Marshall and Old Dominion. In both wins they put up over 30 points and averaged 248.5 yards per game on the ground.
Last week, they welcomed a tough Rutgers team into Blacksburg. Despite another solid rushing game (183 yards), they fell short and lost the game 26-23 on a late field goal. This game in Miami will be the biggest game of the Virginia Tech season with maybe the exception of their later matchup with #17 Clemson in early November.
The Hurricanes remained perfect after dominating South Florida in the 2nd half of their game last weekend. They led by just 7 at the half but put it together for a 28-0 2nd half, allowing them to walk away with a 50-15 victory.
Cam Ward continued his strong play and Heisman campaign by finishing with over 400 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. He connected with 9 different receivers while using Horton and Restrepo the most. Those two combined for 14 catches, 207 yards and 2 touchdowns.
As of now, this Miami team has just 1 ranked team left on their schedule (#15 Louisville) so to get the best seed possible for the CFB Playoff, they need to make statement wins each week. They are a large favorite here, partially for that fact.
Saturday, October 19 at 8:00 PM | Spread | Money | Total |
Miami Hurricanes | -4.5 (-110) | -178 | O 59.5 (-110) |
Louisville Cardinals | +4.5 (-110) | +146 | U 59.5 (-110) |
Miami ranks in the top 10 in opponents’ rushing yards per game (69 ypg). If they can shut down that portion of the VT offense, they should have no problem pulling away like they did last week against USF.
Miami is top in the country in passing but have a sneaky good run game as well. VT struggles against the run and allowed Rutgers to gain over 150 on the ground. Miami should be able to exploit that which will open things for Ward in the passing game. We like the Canes here in a blowout at Hard Rock Stadium Friday night.
