Welcome to Week 6 of the college football season! It’s crazy how quickly the season has been flying by, and we’re excited for another week of action! There are several fantastic games on the slate this week, including some battles between ranked opponents, which is what we’re going to focus on with our player prop efforts.
When reviewing the lines over at Underdog, we landed on Vanderbilt and Alabama as our favorite matchup, so we’re going to get into our favorite plays from that game. Let’s get into it!

Ty Simpson UNDER 298.5 Passing Yards
Is it just us, or does this line seem way too high for Ty Simpson in this one? We know he had a monster game against Wisconsin in his third game of the season, throwing for 382 yards, but he’s been well under 300 in his other three starts.
This, paired with the fact that Vanderbilt’s defense only allows 227 passing yards per game, is a great reason for us to take his under in this spot. Oddsmakers are projecting this to be a high-scoring game, with an over/under set at 55.5, but even with that high of a line, we’re fading Simpson’s passing numbers.
Diego Pavia UNDER 202.5 Passing Yards
We’re going with another contrarian pick in this one, a prop that also goes against the high projection in this game. Vanderbilt’s passing defense is solid, but Alabama’s is elite, allowing the third-lowest passing yards per game on the season.
Diego Pavia has had some big games, but Alabama’s defense is too good for us to ignore, so we’re betting that he’ll have less than 200 passing yards in this one, taking the under in this spot.
Jam Miller UNDER 59.5 Rushing Yards
It’s a game of all unders for us, which is atypical. However, Vanderbilt’s rushing defense is too good, allowing just 87.8 yards per game this season. Jam Miller is supposed to be Alabama’s lead back, but he’s coming off a performance against Georgia where he had just 46 yards in 16 carries, averaging 2.9 yards per carry.
He’s a strong enough rusher that he’ll eventually get better in this area, but for now, against a strong defense, we’re fading him until he shows us that he can put a big game together.
