Hello, college football fans! Welcome to yet another day of Bowl Game action, giving us all something extra to look forward to on New Year's Day! Three playoff games are going down, starting with Texas and Arizona State in the Peach Bowl. Texas is a 13-point favorite, but will they dominate the way that oddsmakers are predicting? With an expected over/under of 51.5 points, we’re excited to watch this matchup and see what happens!
We put our favorite player props together ahead of this contest, all of which can be found at Underdog Fantasy. Let’s get into it!
Cam Skattebo is a freak of nature. He has been one of the best running backs in college football this season, racking up nearly 1,600 yards. Skattebo is one of the biggest reasons for Arizona State’s success this year, and while they might have an uphill battle against Texas, he can put them in a good position to win down the stretch.
With four of his last five performances being over 147 yards, we feel good about Skattebo hitting the 101-yard mark in this game, which is why we’re taking the over. 101 yards might seem like a lot in a playoff matchup, but this should be light work for a player like Skattebo.
This game is another battle between two awesome running backs. Quintrevion Wisner has been a brute force for Texas, especially over his past four games. Wisner put up 158 rushing yards against Kentucky, 186 vs. Texas A&M, 51 against Georgia, and an impressive 110 yards against Clemson in the first round of the playoffs.
He’s peaking at the right time, and if Quinn Ewers can’t get anything going through the air, especially at the beginning of the game, Wisner should feast and have a massive day on the ground.
We’re going with all blue-blood, hard-nosed players in this matchup. This is, obviously, a must-win game, and both teams will rely on their stars to give themselves a chance to advance to the semi-finals of this expanded playoff format. Matthew Golden has been Texas’ go-to receiver all season, a fantastic part of the one-two punch they have with him and Gunnar Helm. Golden has already put up 787 yards, which has come on the heels of 16.1 yards per reception.
He’ll need only three or four catches if not less, to go over his receiving projection in this game. Since we believe he’ll receive several targets, we’re confident that Golden will hit this line!
