The SEC’s premier matchup for this week takes place in Norman when the No. 8-ranked Ole Miss Rebels (6-1, 3-1 SEC) take on the No. 13-ranked Oklahoma Sooners (6-1, 2-1 SEC) at noon EST.

It’s the second straight week that the Rebels will be on the road. Ole Miss was knocked from the ranks of the unbeatens last week, dropping a 43-35 decision to Georgia inside Sanford Stadium.

The Sooners rebounded from their first loss of the season during last week’s action, defeating South Carolina in a 26-7 road victory. Oklahoma’s offense looked much better against the Gamecocks than the Sooners looked against Texas in their previous outing.

The winner of this matchup will have a path to the SEC Championship game in December, while the loser should stay in the playoff hunt. Will it be the Sooners or the Rebels emerging victorious on Saturday? We’ll cover that and provide bettors with our top three player props for this game.

Oklahoma Sooners QB John Mateer UNDER 258.5 Passing Yards

Oklahoma has a Heisman contender in quarterback John Mateer. The 6-foot-1 junior got off to a blistering start, completing over 67 percent of his passes for 1,215 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Since injuring his hand against Auburn, the Sooners have worked him quickly back into the lineup. The results haven’t been the best as he’s completed under 60 percent of his passes for 352 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.

Mateer looked solid against South Carolina, but the Rebels’ defensive front is fierce. Don’t expect him to get much time to complete passes, and bettors should take the under on this player prop.

Ole Miss Rebels QB Trinidad Chambliss OVER 35.5 Rushing Yards

Ole Miss settled its quarterback controversy, landing on senior signal-caller Trinidad Chambliss. He’s emerged as the full-time starter, throwing for 1,549 yards, eight touchdowns, and only one interception.

Chambliss is a true dual-threat, notching 323 rushing yards and five more scores on the ground. Outside of the narrow victory over Washington State, he’s rushed for at least 42 yards in the past five games. Expect him to add to that total against Oklahoma as Chambliss covers his rushing yards prop bet.

Oklahoma Sooners WR Deion Burks OVER 48.5 Receiving Yards

Senior wide receiver Deion Burks came out blistering this season, notching 14 receptions for 189 yards and two touchdowns in Oklahoma’s first two games. Since then, he’s caught 18 receptions for 159 yards – and no touchdowns – during the next five outings.

While Mateer may struggle to eclipse his prop total on Saturday, the opposite is true for Burks. The 5-foot-9 speedster should thrive against the Rebels, finishing the outing with well over 50 yards to cover his player prop total.

Best Bet: UNDER 54.5 Points

Oklahoma’s defense has been solid, holding teams to under 10 points per game this season. While Ole Miss hasn’t had that standard of performance, the Rebels are still holding opponents to just over 22 points per outing.

Oddsmakers believe this will be a high-scoring affair. The Sooners will ensure that isn’t the case because of their strong defense. Take the under on the 54.5-point combined total score for this SEC matchup.
