If you’re a college football fan, this is the most exciting time of year for you. Bowl season is rapidly approaching, and teams are making their final pushes to be one of the first teams in the inaugural 12-team playoff.
Bowl participants will be announced this Sunday, and we will finally find out who will make the big dance, making this weekend one to remember.
Before these participants are announced, there are a lot of important games going on, including all of the major conference championships. We’ve put together our favorite player props from each game, so stay tuned for all of the exciting plays!
We’re going to break down the SEC Championship below. Let’s get into our favorite Underdog props for this game between Texas and Georgia!
Carson Beck had a pedestrian game in the box score in the first matchup of the year against Texas. He didn’t have to do much in that game for Georgia to run away with it, only throwing for 175 yards.
Beck also had three picks in that game, so his defense pulled through to help the Bulldogs win the matchup. We don’t think he’ll be able to hide at all in this game, as Texas should come out firing, wanting to avenge their loss earlier in the year.
Look for Beck to try and put the team on his back in this one, throwing for at least 246 yards.
Taking the under here isn’t so much about fading Quintrevion Wisner, but more about the projected gameplan for Texas. The Longhorns could get themselves into a passing battle in this game, doing everything they can to keep up with Georgia.
With that in mind, there could be limited work on the ground for Wisner, which is why we’re taking the under on his rushing total. 86 yards seems like a lot to achieve in this game, especially with a potential pass-heavy game script.
Much to the surprise of college football fans across the country, Gunnar Helm has been the best receiver on the Longhorns, at least from a statistical perspective.
Helm rakes up yards every game, and he seems to be Quinn Ewers’ safety blanket whenever he needs a first-down pickup or an easy completion. He should be a big part of their offense in this must-win game, and we’re taking the over on his receiving yards as a result.
Helm could have closer to 55 or 60 yards in this game, if not more, so 48 shouldn’t be hard to come by for the talented tight end!
