Georgia Tech vs. Colorado Prediction Best Bet for August 29

Friday’s college football slate blesses fans with an ACC vs. Big 12 battle. The upstart Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will head west to take on Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes. The fun starts at 8:00 PM Eastern on ESPN, and you can bet that Boulder will be a-rockin’.

Get our best bet for Georgia Tech vs. Colorado in the following betting guide. Good luck, fellow sports investors. Ain’t it great to have football back? Life is good!

Betting Odds for Georgia Tech vs. Colorado

Online sportsbooks opened this line at Georgia Tech -3.5 back in the latter part of spring. Some Yellow Jackets money pushed the line up to -4.5, but it has since come back down to -3.5 at some shops. It looks like there’s some disagreement in the market between competing professional syndicates.

As for the game total, there has been a huge appetite for the Under. The line opened at 57, but it’s now sitting at 51 on most sports betting apps. Both teams have preached a renewed commitment to running the ball, so that could be a big reason for the huge move downward.

Will Georgia Tech Build on Last Year’s Positive Momentum?

Don’t look now, but Brent Key has this Georgia Tech program headed in the right direction. The Yellow Jackets lost the Birmingham Bowl to Vanderbilt but still finished up with a respectable 7-6 record. They pulled off huge upsets against #10 Florida State and #4 Miami. They also came a whisker away from upsetting archrival Georgia.

The Tech offense should be poised for another solid season, as both QB Haynes King and RB Jamal Haynes return for their senior seasons. The defense should once again be fundamentally sound, especially along their D-line, where they brought in a slew of guys through the portal.

Will Colorado Take a Step Back in 2025?

Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter led last year’s Buffs squad to a 9-4 campaign, which was one of the program’s best seasons in quite some time. Both of those superstars are now gone, and Coach Prime will turn to Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter to lead the offense.

Salter’s a dual-threat guy who can keep defensive coordinators up at night. He’ll be handing the ball off to sophomore RB Micah Welch and Coastal Carolina transfer Simeon Price. Salter will also have a couple of decent wideouts to target in Omarion Miller and Joseph Williams.

Colorado’s defense should take another step forward in 2025. They have excellent depth on their front seven, and their secondary brings back a ton of talent.

Best Bet: Colorado +4.5 (-112) (BetRivers)

I try my best to approach sports betting like investing. The goal is to buy low and sell high. This looks like a great opportunity to buy Colorado at a low price.

There hasn’t been much hype coming out of Boulder, and I guess it’s because they lost Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders to the NFL. Those losses hurt, but Kaidon Salter will be under center for the Buffs, and he’s got plenty of college football experience.

On the flip side, this could be a good time to sell Georgia Tech at a high price. The Yellow Jackets are usually better in the underdog role, and now here they are being asked to win by 5 or more in a tough, rowdy, thin-air environment.

Jackets QB Haynes King is a beast, but I really like what Colorado brings back along its D-line. I think the Buffs can make King at least somewhat uncomfortable during this game. Give me Coach Prime and the boys plus the points. Good luck!
