Florida State vs. Virginia: 3 Player Props and Best Bet for Friday, September 26

Florida State vs. Virginia 3 Player Props and Best Bet

One of the ACC’s top teams will be tested on Friday when the No. 8-ranked Florida State Seminoles (3-0) starts its conference slate with a road contest against the Virginia Cavaliers (3-1, 1-1 ACC).

Florida State has sliced through its competition, including a 31-17 season-opening route of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Since that outing, the Seminoles have defeated their next two opponents by a combined 143-13 margin.

Virginia earned a strong win last week, easily defeating the Stanford Cardinal 48-20. It’s the second consecutive victory since tripping up against the North Carolina State Wolfpack earlier this month.

Can the Cavaliers pull off a monumental upset against the Seminoles? We’ll cover that and provide bettors with our favorite player props in this primetime ACC matchup.

Florida State Seminoles QB Tommy Castellanos OVER 45.5 Rushing Yards

Senior quarterback Tommy Castellanos has thrived in his only challenge this season, combining for 230 total yards in his team’s victory over Alabama. Since that game, he’s tallied just over 500 total yards and accounted for five touchdowns in noncompetitive contests.

While he’s a threat with his arm, his ability to create positive yards out of the backfield is a bigger problem for opponents. In three games, he’s finished above 50 yards rushing twice, including a 78-yard performance against Alabama. Expect him to have another big rushing day against Virginia’s pressure-oriented defense, easily surpassing this rushing prop mark.

Virginia Cavaliers QB Chandler Morris OVER 238.5 Passing Yards

Senior quarterback Chandler Morris is also a capable runner, but that’s not where he’s made his mark for Virginia. Instead, the signal-caller is thriving in the Cavs’ passing attack, completing 70.8 percent of his passes for 1,050 yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception.

Morris had an out-of-this-world outing against the Cardinal last week, throwing for 380 yards and four touchdowns. Virginia also ran for 210 total yards. Bettors shouldn’t expect the Seminoles to allow that many yards to the Cavs on Friday, but individuals should take Morris to finish with at least 240 yards in this matchup.

Florida State Seminoles WR Duce Robinson UNDER 49.5 Receiving Yards

Castellanos has one of the biggest targets in college football in junior wide receiver Duce Robinson. The 6-foot-6 target has caught eight passes this season for 199 yards and two scores.

The deceiving part of his stat line is that nearly all of his production came in one outing, a 77-3 beatdown of East Texas A&M. In that game, he recorded five receptions for 173 yards and both touchdowns. Savvy bettors will take the under on this receiving prop wager.

Best Bet: Florida State (-6.5)

Virginia’s win over Stanford was dominant. The Cavaliers built a 28-7 advantage early in the second quarter before coasting to their victory over their fellow ACC school. Oddsmakers are using that contest to base the less-than-a-touchdown spread for this game.

Don’t let the Cavs’ win fool you. Despite hitting the road for the first time, Florida State will be prepared for this game. Bettors should take the Seminoles to cover their 6.5-point spread as FSU will win this game by 10 or more points on Friday.
