CFB Week 6 Six Pack of Best Player Prop Bets

When it comes to college football player prop bets, oddsmakers tend to promote big-name players on each team and overlook lesser-known talents. That’s where savvy bettors look as you can often score well above 50% of your bets with a little knowledge about each team.

So, what wagers look to hit with this Saturday’s slate of college football contests? Look for this six-pack of Week 6 college football player prop bets to score significant profits for bettors.

Maryland Terrapins TE Corey Dyches OVER 21.5 Receiving Yards

After a hot start to the season, Maryland TE Corey Dyches has been an after-thought in his last two games. Dyches recorded a team-best 108 yards receiving and six receptions in the team’s season-opener against Towson.

In the next two games, Dyches notched 10 receptions for 87 yards combined. Against stiffer competition – if you can call Indiana and Michigan State stiffer competition – Dyches has been held to two total catches for 19 yards.

Against Ohio State, expect Maryland to pass and spread the ball around due to the Buckeyes’ strong defensive front seven. Terrapins QB Taulia Tagovailoa will need hot reads, making this a perfect contest for Dyches to be the featured Maryland target.

Texas Longhorns RB Jonathon Brooks OVER 98.5 Rushing Yards

After a slow start to the season, Texas RB Jonathon Brooks has been on point as of late, rushing for over 100 yards in three straight wins for the Longhorns.

Brooks recorded his best game against the Jayhawks last Saturday, notching 218 yards rushing on 21 carries with one of those rushes busting loose for 67 yards (and a TD). Oklahoma has allowed more than 140 yards rushing in their past two contests, yielding those yards in easy wins over Cincinnati and Iowa State.

Neither team presents the problems that Texas’ rebuilt offensive line will present, especially if the Sooners elect to slow down QB Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns’ passing game.

Missouri Tigers RB Cody Schrader OVER 66.5 Rushing Yards

Normally, logging at least 10 rushes per contest isn’t a feat to be excited about. But when LSU is your opponent this week, Missouri RB Cody Schrader should be licking his chops.

As the featured rusher in all five of the Tigers’ victories this season, Schrader has amassed 463 yards and over 5.7 yards per rush on his 81 carries. Defensively, LSU is giving up yardage in chunks to RBs as of late.

In three of their last four games, the Tigers have allowed a total of eight runners to average more than 5.0 yards per rush, meaning back-ups and QBs in addition to the featured rusher are gashing the LSU defense. Expect Schrader to add to that list this weekend and go over 66.5 rushing yards.

Virginia Tech RB Bhayshul Tuten UNDER 58.5 Rushing Yards

Coming off last week’s victory over Pittsburgh, bettors will be high on Virginia Tech RB Bhayshul Tuten. In that contest, the Hokies RB ran 24 times for 109 yards, his second straight game with at least 88 yards.

In his first three games, however, Tuten notched only 104 yards on 38 carries, or an anemic 2.7 yards per attempt. Expect Tuten to return to his early-season results against a Florida State defense that had more than a week to prepare.

The Seminoles have yielded only four non-QB runners to cross the 60-yard threshold in their first four games, and Florida State will have a huge home field advantage as fans are packing Doak Campbell Stadium for the fifth-ranked Seminoles.

Arizona State QB Trenton Bourguet UNDER 240.5 Passing Yards

The old adage suggesting if you have multiple QBs earning playing time, you probably have none especially rings true for Arizona State. Through five games, four different QBs have led the team in passing yards this season, including the Sun Devils’ local talent Trenton Bourguet.

The junior QB is the latest to add his name to this list after passing for 344 yards against Cal last Saturday. Colorado has been susceptible to strong QBs as four of five opponents have had a QB throw for more than 270 yards against the Buffalos.

But Colorado has an excellent backfield, recording eight INTs this year and at least one in every game. Bourguet could be rattled in only his second start of the year, and the Buffalos are looking to bounce back from a pair of losses to Top 10 teams.

Minnesota Golden Gophers QB Athan Kaliakmanis UNDER 150.5 Passing Yards

The Minnesota Golden Gophers are consistent in their offensive approach. In all but one game this season, the Golden Gophers have run the ball more than they’ve passed it and have rushed an amazing 63 percent of all their offensive plays.

The flip side of their consistency is Minnesota QB Athan Kaliakmanis isn’t called upon to move the Golden Gophers offense down the field. Kaliakmanis has surpassed 150 yards only twice this season, and once by only three yards.

Michigan has allowed only two QBs to top 150 yards this year, both coming in their last two contests. Yet the Wolverines feature a ferocious defense that has allowed seven or less points in all five games. Expect Kaliakmanis to come close to his 150.5 total needed for this prop bet, but the Minnesota QB ultimately should fall short of the mark.
