Another week has come and gone, which means that it’s time for another college football Saturday! There are several great games to look forward to this weekend, especially the matchup between No. 2 Ohio State and No. 5 Indiana. There are also ranked battles between Notre Dame and Navy, along with BYU Vs. Arizona State.
While we have some prop ideas for other games on the slate, we wanted to give out our top three picks from these highly touted games. We didn’t have our best week with Underdog last week, so let’s get back on track with a sweep!
This is, without a doubt, our favorite play of the Saturday slate. Will Howard isn’t particularly known for his rushing prowess, and Indiana has one of the best defensive lines in the country.
A friendly reminder here that sacks count against quarterback rushing yards in college football, so even if Howard has a few positive rushes, they can easily be negated by massive sacks. Indiana is no joke, so we’re taking the under on his rushing yardage total in this spot.
We were a bit surprised to see Sam Leavitt’s passing yardage total so high this week, especially considering he’s facing BYU. BYU has one of the best defenses in the country against the pass, only allowing 183.7 yards per game.
Leavitt has only achieved more than 184 yards in five games this year, giving us little confidence that he’s due for a big game against BYU’s staunch secondary. BYU is out for blood and a spot in the playoffs, so we anticipate that they’ll throw the kitchen sink against Leavitt and ASU, giving us confidence in the under here, too.
It’s rare for us to take three unders in the same slate, but it seems like a week where there could be limited offensive production from some of the top-ranked teams in the country. Army is the best team in the nation as it pertains to rushing yards allowed, leaving players like Jeremiyah Love in a tough spot.
Love has been a gem for Notre Dame all year, but if Army stacks the box against him like some expect, it could be a rough day for the star RB. We still expect Love to have 60 or 65 yards in this game but can’t trust him to have over 74.
