We have officially made it to the first full Saturday slate of the college football season! It’s been a long road to get here, but we’re ready for what’s in store this season. With an expanded playoff field, teams are more excited and motivated to perform well throughout the season, hoping to obtain one of the coveted spots in the playoffs.
Before we get to that point, however, the rest of the games need to be played. With a full slate comes a plethora of player props, and we’ve taken to Underdog to find the best picks available. Let’s get after it!
We love passing yards props in Week 1, especially for marquee quarterbacks. Quinn Ewers and Texas are taking on Colorado State this weekend, a great first opponent to go up against. Colorado State might have some potential this year, but they should be no match for this titan of a team that’s hoping to make a deep run in the College Football Playoff.
Pending a surprising turn of events in this game, we believe Ewers should easily hit 300 passing yards, if not more, making this a relatively easy cash.
Ohio State faces off against Akron in their first game of the season and is favored by more than five touchdowns. They might only have to play their starters in the first half of this game, but by that time, they could run up the score, leading by as many as 40 or 50 points.
With Marvin Harrison Jr. and Brock Bowers out of the picture, Emeka Egbuka should be Kyle McCord’s primary target. Look for this dynamic duo to get off to a quick start, with Egbuka at least eclipsing the 70-yard mark.
The University of Michigan starts its victory tour at home against Fresno State this weekend. The reigning, defending National Champs are ranked No. 9 in the country. Are they ranked too high? Too low? That remains to be seen. What we do know about this team, is their running back situation.
With Blake Corum now in the NFL, the Wolverines will turn to Donovan Smith as their feature back. We’re banking on the veteran back to have at least 100 rushing yards in this one, crushing the competition out of the gates.
