2 College Football Best Bets for Week 6

Week 6 of the college football season is already here, and our industry expert has his eye on 2 best bets for Saturday, October 5. Check them out below! Enjoy the games this weekend!

Michigan Wolverines vs Washington Huskies

The Michigan Wolverines are 4-1 and have won 3 straight games after their loss to Texas back in week two 31-12. Their last two wins, over USC and Minnesota, each came by the same score of 27-24.

The USC game saw the Wolverines to lead by as many as 14 points and the Minnesota game, they led by 21. Each game saw their leads evaporate later in the game and the Wolverines were able to hold off each comeback attempt.

Michigan has been able to lean on their defense and Kalel Mullings has been carrying the run game by going over 100 yards in 3 straight games to go with his 6 touchdowns.

Washington is 3-2 and have been struggling a bit as expected after losing their former head coach who left for Alabama. The Huskies are coming off a tough 21-18 loss at Rutgers last weekend.

They came back from an 11-point deficit in the 4th quarter, but Grady Gross missed a 55-yard field goal that would have sent the game into overtime. Their offense is what has been the strong side of the ball for Washington. They are 27th in the country and have been averaging almost 470 yards per game.

Best Bet: Michigan +2.5

Michigan has thwarted back-to-back comeback attempts while Washington failed in their latest comeback bid. The Huskies allowed 184 rushing yards to Rutgers in a loss and 136 in their loss to Washington State.

We expect Michigan to pound the rock and wear down the Washington defensive front to win time of possession and ultimately the game.

We believe the line is begging the public to jump on the unranked Huskie favorites here and we are going to take the opposite.

Key Betting Trends for Michigan at Washington

  • Michigan is 32-2 SU in their last 34 games.
  • Michigan is 11-0 SU in their last 11 games on the road.
  • Michigan is 7-0 SU in their last 7 games played in October.
  • Washington is 2-14-1 ATS in their last 17 games played in October.

Missouri Tigers vs Texas A&M

The 4-0 Missouri Tigers are off to a great start. They defeated then #24 Boston College in their 3rd game of the season and most recently handled Vanderbilt 30-27 before having a bye week last week.

However, after defeating their 1st two opponents by a total of 89-0, they have won their next 2 by an average of just 4.5 points. Their offense has been balanced as they rank 51st in passing yards per game and 40th in rushing yards per game. Most impressive has been their 3rd down efficiency which is 8th in the country at 54.7%.

For the Aggies, they started out by taking a 23-13 home loss to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame but have since won 4 straight games.

In 2 of those 4 games, they took care of Florida by 13 and snuck by Arkansas last week 21-17. They have leaned heavily on their run game as they rank 21st in the country with over 230 yards per game on the ground.

Best Bet: Texas A&M -2.5

The Tigers have been sneaking by lately and now face an Aggies team that is on a mission to climb back up the rankings after that initial loss to ND.

The Aggies boast a very strong defense and that should be the difference in this one.

The Tigers offense has not been as strong as expected and they have allowed 48 points to BC and Vandy combined. We like the Aggies to pick up this home win in a tight contest.

Key Betting Trends for Missouri at Texas A&M

  • Missouri is 10-26 SU in their last 36 games played on a Saturday when playing on the road.
  • Missouri is 2-5 SU in their last 7 games against an opponent in the West Division.
  • Texas A&M is 5-1 SU in their last 6 games at home.
  • Texas A&M is 10-1 SU in their last 11 games when playing as the favorite.
