Michigan Wolverines vs Ohio State Buckeyes

One of the most storied rivalries in all of sports will take place this Saturday. The #2 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will host the 6-5 Michigan Wolverines, in hopes of snapping a 3-game losing streak to this Michigan team.

Before the last 3 years, Ohio State had dominated, winning 8 straight. The Buckeyes are playing with the Big 10 title game in their sights, along with a birth in the CFB Playoff. They have a top 3 defense, allowing just 10.73ppg, and a top 15 offense that is scoring 37.8ppg. Will Howard has proven to be a quick learner and has excelled in his 1st season as the Buckeye's starting QB. He is carrying a 180+ QBR and has thrown 26 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions.

Michigan has had a lackluster season. Coming off the National Championship win last year; they lost most of their starters and changed QB multiple times throughout the year. Davis Warren has settled in to be the starter as they head into what will be their biggest game of the year.

Already bowl-eligible, the Wolverines will be treating this game like their Super Bowl. The run game will need to be the priority, and the Wolverines will need to control the ball and time of possession. They will lean on Kalel Mullings and Donovan Edwards to carry the ball and keep the explosive OSU offense off the field.

Best Bet: Michigan Wolverines +21

Over the last 3 times in which these teams have met where OSU was a top 10 team and Michigan was unranked; the Buckeyes have won each time. However, those wins were by 11-, 14-, and 1-point respectively.

Proving that no matter where these teams are ranked nationally, the game is always played tighter than expected. We believe that will reign true again this year and Michigan will not win the game but stay inside the number to get the cover.

Key Betting Trends for Michigan at Ohio State

  • Michigan is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games on the road.
  • Michigan is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games played in week 14.
  • OSU is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against Michigan.

South Carolina Gamecocks vs Clemson Tigers

The South Carolina Gamecocks are 8-3 and ranked 15th in the latest polls. Clemson is 9-2 and currently ranked 12th. Both teams could use a win here to bolster themselves and potentially sneak into the CFB Playoff. The Gamecocks have won 5 straight games and are coming off a 56-12 thrashing of Wofford last week.

Before that, they had beaten 3 straight-ranked teams in Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Missouri. Lanorris Sellers has thrown 13 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions during their current 5-game win streak. Raheim Sanders has scored 6 touchdowns on the ground and 2 more through the air over that same stretch. All of that has occurred with the defense holding opponents to just 15.6ppg.

Clemson had been on a great run after losing their season opener. They won 6 straight games before falling at home to Louisville. However, since that loss, Dabo has gotten the boys rallied and they have won their last 3 games. In those wins, it has not been easy.

They beat a VT team by 10 but then Pitt by just 4 in a game they should have lost. Their latest win was over the Citadel which was comparable to the win their opponents just had against Wofford. Cade Klubnik has been solid over the 3-game win streak. He has tossed 8 touchdowns with just 1 interception.

Best Bet: South Carolina Gamecocks +3

While the Clemson offense is better than this South Carolina offense, we believe the difference will be the ability of South Carolina’s defense to stymie Clemson’s offense. With the Gamecocks having their defense holding opponents under 20ppg, this should be the difference.

Cade Klubnik is not going to be able to get comfortable in the pocket and while he can use his legs with effectiveness, we like the Gamecocks to keep him from picking up big chunks of yards and extending drives.

Key Betting Trends for South Carolina at Clemson

  • South Carolina is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games.
  • South Carolina is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games on the road.
  • Clemson is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games.
  • Clemson is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games when playing as the favorite.
