2 College Football Best Bets for Friday, October 13

Thanks to a nice Friday slate, we don't have to wait until Saturday to indulge in some college football betting. ESPN brings us matchups from the AAC and PAC-12 to whet our appetites for the big Saturday card ahead.

Here are 2 college football best bets for Friday, October 13. Let's cash some tickets! Good luck!

Best Bet: Tulane -4.5 over Memphis

The 4-1 Green Wave are currently on a 3-game winning streak. Their lone loss came against then #20 Ole Miss 37-20. Their latest win came over UAB at home where Makhi Hughes ran for 123 yards on 22 carries and 2 touchdowns.

As a team, they ran for over 250 yards while also going 3-3 on 4th down. The defense has continually held their opponents in check as they rank 36th in the country in points allowed per game (17.4). Both Lawrence Keys III and Jha’Quan Jackson have each caught 4 touchdowns on the season.

Memphis is also 4-1 to this point and are averaging over 36ppg which is 30th in the country. While they have been running for over 160 yards per game, the passing game has been just as solid and averages 277 yards through the air.

Seth Henigan is carrying a 147.8 QBR and has thrown just 5 interceptions to 10 touchdowns. Blake Watson is leading them in rushing at over 90 yards per game and has picked up 6 touchdowns on the ground while adding another on a reception.

With 85% of public bets being on Memphis and 90% of the money being on the same side, we are seeing this line move in the opposite direction. After opening at -3, the Green Wave is up to -4.5 in some books.

The books are baiting the public more and more to ride the Tigers here, but we are not following suit. Tulane should be able to keep Seth Henigan in check and win this one on the road.

Key Betting Trends for Tulane at Memphis

  • Tulane is 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games.
  • Tulane is 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games on the road.
  • Memphis is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games played in October.
  • Memphis is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games against Tulane.

Best Bet: Colorado -10.5 over Stanford

The Cardinal had high hopes after defeating Hawaii on the road to start their season 37-24. However, that was the only win they have gotten in 5 weeks. #5 USC and #9 Oregon are not terrible losses but a home loss to Sacramento State is low.

They are ranked outside the Top 225 in both scoring and points allowed. It makes it awfully hard to be successful with numbers like that. They are running for almost 150 yards per game and have accounted for 6 of their 9 offensive touchdowns.

Colorado has been all over the national spotlight and have felt the wrath of the top tier of the conference in Oregon and USC. While they were unable to defeat either of them, they did play USC tough and ended up losing by just 1 score. They got back to their winning ways by defeating ASU last week 27-24.

The last 3 games have been played without superstar Travis Hunter, but he could return for this game. Shedeur Sanders continues to impress as he is averaging over 335 yards per game through the air and has 6 receivers with double digits in receptions.

After the losses to USC and Oregon and a close call to ASU, this is just the game the Buffs need. A weak and easily intimidated Stanford team comes into Boulder with an anemic offense and a subpar offense. We like Sanders and company to use this game to prove as an example as to how much superior they are to the rest of the bottom half of the conference.

Key Betting Trends for Stanford at Colorado

  • Stanford is 4-20 ATS in their last 24 games.
  • Stanford is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games on the road.
  • Colorado is 3-0 ATS in their last 3 games against Stanford.
