Can you believe that another football season has come to an end? Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and all of the Swifties probably haven't even went to sleep yet out in Viva Las Vegas. Now that the NFL has wrapped up, we turn our attention to some college basketball.
Do you miss football already? It's okay! We do too! Let's fight the Monday blues with 3 player props for Wake Forest at Duke in college hoops! Good luck!
Why in Sam Hill are we getting plus money on this prop? It just doesn't make a lick of sense! Roach is the best shooter on this Blue Devils squad and his median number of three-pointers made per game is 2 this season.
Roach has also made at least (2) three-pointers in 12 of his 22 games this season. The Leesburg, Virginia native has also gone over this prop line in 5 of his last 7 outings. That makes us think that this prop should be priced around -110 or so.
As for the ever-important matchup part of the equation, that's in our favor as well. Wake Forest ranks just 74th in the nation in three-point defense (31.9%). Let's ride the Over in what is probably our favorite player prop on the board this evening.
We aren't too crazy about the high amount of juice on this prop, but there's still enough value to pull the trigger on it. Hildreth's assist median is just 2 this season, but he's been incredibly consistent for the Demon Deacs.
The 6-4 junior has gone over this assists total in 17 of his 23 ball games during the 23-24 campaign. That's a model of consistency if we've ever seen one. Hildreth is also in pretty good form, as he's dished out at least 2 assists in 6 of his last 8 games.
Duke has an okay defense, but they're not nearly as dominant on that end as in years past. The Blue Devils rank just 174th in assists allowed per game (13). We'll fire on this Over and hope that it hits before halftime at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
In this spirit of always trying to play at least one Under per card, we'll roll with Mark Mitchell to grab 6 rebounds or less this evening. He's been in great current form in the rebounding department, but his median is still just 6 for the season.
The 6-9 sophomore has stayed under this rebounding total in 13 of 20 contests. Mitchell has also grabbed 6 boards or fewer in 8 of his 11 home games this season. We also think that Kyle Filipowski will be doing most of the dirty work on the glass in this game.
Mitchell is a gifted athlete, but going up against Wake Forest isn't an ideal matchup for him from a rebounding standpoint. The Deacs have a couple of very large forwards that should do pretty well in the paint. Efton Reid III is a 7-foot junior that leads Wake Forest in rebounding. Andrew Carr, a 6-10 senior from West Chester, is no slouch on the glass either. Give us the Under!
