Today is a great day if you’re a college basketball fan! We are in the thick of March, and the Madness is right around the corner. With so few games left in the season, teams are running out of time to establish their positioning, which should make for some exciting games leading up to the Tournament.
One of those games is taking place tonight, as Texas is traveling to Arkansas to take on the Razorbacks in what should be an exciting clash between two SEC schools. Arkansas has the upper hand on paper, as they’re 7.5-point favorites, but in March, anyone can get hot and pull off an upset.
That said, we’ve compiled our favorite Underdog player props from this matchup, so let’s get right into it!
Jordan Pope UNDER 2.5 Rebounds
Under trends for rebounds in college basketball have been going well for us lately, so we’re going to lean into that for our analysis of Jordan Pope tonight. Pope is a strong contributor for Texas from a scoring perspective, putting up 13.1 PPG, but he isn’t so strong when it comes to help on the glass, having just 2.1 rebounds per game.
He’s been particularly poor in this area lately, having over 3 boards in just two of his past 10 games. As we mentioned, we’re riding with that trend again tonight, taking the under on his rebounds line.
Matas Vokietaitis OVER 16.5 Points
We’re high on a lot of Texas’ players to go over their point projections, seeing how Arkansas allows nearly 80 PPG. Their lack of defense could get exposed early in the Tournament, and we’re thinking it’s going to get exposed tonight, allowing players like Matas Vokietaitis to put up some big numbers.
The 7-footer has had some massive games lately, including a 22-point game against Georgia, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he surpassed the 20-point mark against an opponent that struggles to stop anyone.
Meleek Thomas UNDER 16.5 Points
Meleek Thomas is the second-leading scorer on the Razorbacks, and he’s certainly capable of going nuclear against any opponent. However, he’s struggled to score more than 17 points lately, only having 17+ in 3 of his past 10 games.
Texas’ defense isn’t anything to sneeze at, but they are better than Arkansas’, and if they shut anyone down, Thomas could be that guy, so we’re taking the under on his points total as a result.
