St. John’s vs Duke: 3 Player Prop Predictions for Friday, March 27

The past few days have been painful as we’ve waited for the NCAA Tournament to come back. The first two rounds were nothing short of incredible, and we’re now left with a field in the next round that’s chock-full of teams that could win it all. There aren’t many Cinderella stories at this point, but there are still plenty of exciting storylines to unfold over the next several days.

One of the most highly anticipated games from the Friday board is the battle between Duke and St. John’s. Everybody expected Duke to make it this far, and St. John’s is no slouch, either, which should make for a fun game.

Duke is a 6.5-point favorite, but at this point, it’s anyone’s ballgame. With that in mind, let’s get into our favorite player props from this one, all of which can be found on Underdog!

Cameron Boozer OVER 21.5 Points

You really can’t talk about Duke without mentioning Cameron Boozer’s name. The freshman phenom has been the team’s leading scorer all year, and they’re going to need him to step up in a big way here if they want to win this game.

Boozer’s stat lines have been relatively quiet throughout the NCAA Tournament thus far, but that’s mostly thanks to Duke putting up two blowout games in a row. We’re thinking he could have closer to 30 points in this one, so we’re riding with the over on his total, believing Boozer could have a legacy-defining performance.

Zuby Ejiofor OVER 15.5 Points

On the other side of this matchup is St. John’s, which is led in scoring by senior Zuby Ejiofor. Ejiofor scored 16.3 PPG during the regular season, and we think he has the stuff to go toe-to-toe with Boozer in this game, scoring-wise.

Like Boozer, he’s been pretty quiet thus far from a scoring perspective, but that’s been due to an average field goal percentage of 41.7%, compared to his regular-season average of 54.5%. We think Ejiofor is going to shoot closer to that season average in this must-win game, resulting in him scoring more than 16 points.

Bryce Hopkins OVER 1.5 Made Three-Pointers

If St. John’s is going to have a chance in this game, they’ll need to be prolific from beyond the arc. One of their best three-point shooters is Bryce Hopkins, and he’s had at least two threes in three straight games, including six against Kansas.

He shouldn’t have problems hitting two in this one, especially if he gets four or more opportunities, so we’re taking the over as a result!
