The Sweet Sixteen is already upon us! After a relatively boring first two rounds due to a lack of upsets, the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight should provide a bit more excitement. There are several awesome matchups that we are looking forward to, and we’re committed to putting our favorite Underdog props together for as many games as possible.
We’ll start with the battle between Maryland and Florida, a game that we hope will come down to the wire. Let's take a gander at the game odds before discussing our favorite player props from this one! Best of luck, fellow sports investors.
Sometimes, you just have to keep it simple. Walter Clayton Jr. is a certified beast for Florida and has already scored 23 points in each of the first two days of the Tournament. He was instrumental in their win over UConn in the second round and will look to keep that momentum alive in the Sweet Sixteen and beyond.
Florida has some great scorers who might contribute in their own ways, but we’re still confident that Clayton can get his and put up at least 20 points, cashing in on the over in this one.
If Maryland is going to have a chance in this game, they’ll need strong contributions from some of their best players, including Julian Reese. Similar to Clayton, Reese has been fantastic in his two Tournament games so far, putting up 15 and 18 points in his past two outings.
He isn’t a threat from beyond the arc, which limits his overall ceiling, but with Reese being dominant in the post, we still believe he can score at least 13 in this one. There should be a lot of offensive rebounding opportunities for Reese, giving him plenty of chances for put-back buckets, furthering his chances of going over here.
Florida has a lot of players who can put up crooked numbers in the box score, and while Alex Condon has been one of them at times this year, we think he’s in for another down night in the points column.
He only scored five points against UConn, taking two shots in that game, which is a trend we expect to continue. Condon will likely concede his shot attempts to players like Clayton, so we’re fading his point total until he shows us a big game in the Tournament.
