Iowa State vs. Kansas 3 Player Props and Best Bet

The Big 12 Conference will have two of its top teams doing battle on Monday when the No. 8 Iowa State Cyclones (17-4, 7-3 Big 12) head to historic Allen Fieldhouse to battle the No. 16 ranked Kansas Jayhawks (15-6, 6-4 Big 12).

Iowa State jumped out to a blistering 15-1 start as they won 12 straight games. Recently, the Cyclones have been through the throes of the Big 12 Conference ringer, losing two straight games and three of their past five outings.

Kansas has struggled, also. The Jayhawks have lost four games in the Big 12 to teams that have been ranked in the Top 25 this season, including a 74-57 decision to Iowa State in January.

Can Kansas get revenge on the Cyclones at Allen Fieldhouse? We’ll cover that and our three best player prop bets for Monday’s Big 12 matchup.

Kansas Jayhawks C Hunter Dickinson UNDER 17.5 Points

Kansas has a potential NBA player on their roster in senior center Hunter Dickinson. The 7-foot-2 athlete leads the team as he’s averaging 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game for the Jayhawks.

His first outing against Iowa State, however, was one of his worst. He shot a miserable 30 percent from the field, finishing with just six points and eight rebounds against the Cyclones. While he’ll improve on that showing, bettors should not expect him to connect for 18 points in Monday’s game against Iowa State.

Iowa State Cyclones F Joshua Jefferson UNDER 7.5 Rebounds

Iowa State found a gem when the Cyclones added Joshua Jefferson to their roster during the offseason. The 6-foot-9 junior is averaging 12.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game for the Cyclones.

In Jefferson’s first outing against Kansas, the junior finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds to help Iowa State pull out its win. Jefferson has struggled on the glass the past two outings, and Dickinson will be looking to show his value on Monday. Bettors should take the under on this player prop bet.

Kansas Jayhawks G Dajuan Harris OVER 6.5 Assists

When Kansas needs to make a play, the Jayhawks are putting the ball in guard Dajuan Harris’ hands. The 6-foot-2 senior is almost always in the game, averaging 32.0 minutes per contest while scoring 9.8 points, grabbing 2.8 rebounds, and dishing out 5.9 assists.

His ability to find the open man has been on display during the last five games. In those contests, he’s averaging 7.8 assists per night. There’s little reason to believe he won’t do the same tonight, especially after recording seven in his team’s first matchup against Iowa State.

Best Bet: Kansas (-2.5)

Allen Fieldhouse provides one of the best home court advantages in the country. Kansas has won more than 87 percent of its games inside this historic venue, and current head coach Bill Self has won more than 94 percent of the games he’s coached since joining the Jayhawks.

Uncharacteristically, Kansas has dropped two home games this season. That marks his 19th home loss in 22 seasons. That’s why bettors should take the Jayhawks to beat Iowa State and cover their point spread, especially since Kansas will be seeking their revenge over the Cyclones on Monday.
