Valentine's Day brought us no love, as our college basketball player props stumbled to a 1-2 mark. Our favorite bet on Norchad Omier got home with ease, as he had no trouble going over the 8.5 rebounds number. Unfortunately, both Xavier players (Quincy Olivari and Dayvion McKnight) failed to cash in for us.
Oh well, it's a new day and we're ready to bounce back and move on. The college hoops props record now stands at 11-8. Let's bounce back with 3 more bets for Thursday, February 15. Good luck, folks!
It sure is hard betting against some of the top players in the sport, but that's usually where the value is. Davis is the premier scorer on this Florida Atlantic Owls team, but his median point total this season is 17. That gives us an 8.1% edge right off the bat.
Davis, a 6-4 guard from Gary, Indiana has scored 18 points or fewer in 13 of his 24 ball games this season. He's also stayed under this point total in 3 of his last 5 outings. However, Davis does get a very favorable matchup tonight against Temple.
Temple is pretty horrific on the defensive end, but we have to trust our numbers. With Florida Atlantic being a 20-point favorite, head coach Dusty May could choose to sit some of his starters late in the game. FAU also has a date with in-state rival South Florida on deck, so they may not be fully focused for this lowly Temple squad. Play the Under!
This line reminds us of Omier's last night. It's simply way too low for a guy like Johnson, who is usually pretty dominant on the glass. The 6-8 junior forward has a median rebounding number of 9 this season.
Johnson is the top rebounder on this Pirates squad, and he's grabbed 8 rebounds or more in 14 of his 22 games during the 2023-24 campaign. He's also gone over this total in 12 of his last 17 outings, so current form is definitely in our favor.
The matchup isn't ideal for Johnson tonight, as he'll be going up against Wichita State. The Shockers are one of the best rebounding teams in the nation. That being said, Johnson still has a 2-inch height advantage over Wichita's top rebounder, Dalen Ridgnal.
We must mention the price on this prop as well. We're playing the juicy -140 number at FanDuel, but feel free to fire away on Over 8.5 at the nice plus money prices at either DraftKings or Caesars.
Simpson is a solid guard for the Scarlet Knights, but he's averaging just 3.3 assists per game this season. Just with that stat alone, we can tell that DraftKings is being pretty generous with their plus money price on this prop.
For the season, Simpson has dished out 3 assists or less in 14 of 23 games. The 6-3 Mount Laurel, New Jersey native has also stayed under this total in 4 of his last 6 appearances for Rutgers. Both of these trends point us toward the Under, even against a lackluster defensive squad like Northwestern.
Speaking of Northwestern, they rank just 223rd in the nation in assists allowed per game. You don't have to be a genius to know that that isn't all that great. Even still, Rutgers only ranks 261st in assists per game. Let's ride another plus money Under to the bank!
