After back-to-back sweeps on Thursday and Friday, our college basketball player props are sitting at 31-21 on the season. As exciting as last week was, sports betting is a “What have you done for me lately” business, so it’s back to the grindstone.
Need help betting on the Monday, March 4 college basketball slate? We got your back! Check out our 3 favorite player prop wagers below! Best of luck, sports betting family!
There is often a ton of value in fading players on the blueblood college hoops squads like Duke, UNC, Kentucky, etc. The oddsmakers know these storied programs have huge followings, so they compensate for that by “taxing” the Overs on most players.
We’re seeing that play out with this number on McCain, who has a median point total of just 11 this season. The Corona, California native may be averaging 13.3 points per game, but he’s still stayed under this total in 17 of those 29 contests.
Current form favors an under in this spot as well, as McCain has scored 13 points or less in 9 of his last 16 outings. The 6’3” guard has also stayed under this line in 8 of his 12 road/neutral site games. Look for NC State’s defense to keep McCain under wraps just enough for us to cash this Under ticket.
Faithful readers of our column know that we respect FanDuel quite a bit when it comes to their player prop lines. In this case, we see FanDuel hanging 16.5 when every other online sportsbook is giving out 17.5. We also like that Horne’s median point total is just 16 this season.
We get that this wager is kind of scary because Horne is the best scorer on this Wolfpack squad. Nevertheless, Horne has stayed under in 2 of his last 3 outings and is 15-14 to the Under overall this season.
The main reason we like this play though is because of the matchup. Duke is known more for their star offensive players like Jeremy Roach and Kyle Filipowski. However, the Blue Devils also have a very underrated defense that ranks 35th in points allowed and 43rd in defensive efficiency. Let’s ride another Under!
Why not make it 3 straight Unders to close out the Monday card? Yes, I know we’re fading another team’s best scorer, which isn’t much fun. However, a quick look at the numbers tells us that there’s value in the Under.
Walter is averaging 14.7 points per game this season and his median points number is 14. The 6’5” freshman has also scored 15 points or less in 18 of his 29 ball games during the ‘23-24 campaign. He’s also stayed under this total in 7 of his 11 home games this year.
Walter also has a tough matchup to deal with this evening against Texas. The Longhorns rank 71st in points allowed and 50th at defending all 2-point shots. Look for this intrastate rivalry to result in Walter staying Under this price tonight! Let’s go!
