2 College Basketball Best Bets for Tuesday, January 30

Is it just me or do you miss football already? Super Bowl 58 will be here soon, but 12 days is a long wait. Thankfully we have some college hoops on the docket tonight for our viewing pleasure.

Need some action to make this a terrific Tuesday? Ten games on the slate tonight involve Top 25 teams! Check out our 2 college basketball best bets for Tuesday, January 30. Best of luck tonight on the hardwood.

Best Bet: Villanova (-125)

In case you haven't noticed, unranked home teams have done exceptionally well this season when playing ranked teams. I've personally hit 4 out of 5 in this type of spot over the last couple of weeks. We have to ask ourselves why a Villanova team that's only 11-9 is favored over a Marquette squad that's 15-5 this season.

Marquette is a solid team, but I don't think they're worthy of being No. 9 in the country. It's incredibly tough to win conference games on the road in college hoops. Three of the Golden Eagles's five losses have come on the highway this season, which makes me think that Marquette isn't as elite as their current ranking.

Yes, I know that 'Nova has lost 4 in a row. However, I think this is a good revenge spot for the Wildcats, as they lost to Marquette a couple of weeks ago 87-74. Look for Eric Dixon, who leads Villanova by averaging 15.7 points per game, to be the difference in this one. Let's lay the small moneyline price with the Wildcats at home.

Best Bet: Kansas State (-138)

It must be Wildcat night, as this is another great spot for the unranked favorite at home vs. a ranked team angle. I gave this play out on X last night at the point spread price of -1.5. However, the spread has moved quite a bit, so we'll recommend the moneyline if you're just now jumping in with K-State.

Kansas State may not be ranked, but they're still a pretty dangerous team, especially at home. Cam Carter (16.3 ppg) is a solid scorer, and his fellow guard Tylor Perry (14 ppg) isn't too bad either. Oklahoma may have a tough time keeping both of these guys in check on the road.

I also think Kansas State has a decent defense. The Wildcats rank 18th in the nation in opponent shooting efficiency. They also have a knack for getting offensive rebounds, which could be a nice edge for them down the stretch. Give me K-State tonight against an OU team that's only won 3 of their 7 conference games.
