2 College Basketball Best Bets for Monday, March 2

Welcome to the Monday college hoops slate, fellow sports bettors. We hope that your weekend was a profitable one. March is finally here, and the madness has begun, with bubble teams trying to position themselves for a shot at the Big Dance.

We finished up the weekend card at 4-4, with a small profit thanks to lots of moneyline sprinkles coming through on Saturday. Monday’s card is very light, but I did find a couple of opportunities that I think are positive EV.

Here are my 2 college basketball best bets for March 2. Best of luck, my friends! Let’s cash some hoops tickets!

Best Bet: Maryland Eastern Shore (-125) (DraftKings)

These are two of the worst teams in Division I college hoops, but I see quite a bit of value in the Hawks tonight. They were just barely beaten by North Carolina Central earlier this season, so we have the revenge factor in our favor.

Maryland Eastern Shore also has nice statistical edges in rebounding defense, two factors that always come in handy in March.
Aside from the metric edges, this is a fantastic spot for Maryland Eastern Shore, as they’ll be playing their second straight game on their home floor.

On the flip side, this is an awful traveling spot for North Carolina Central. This will be the Eagles’ fourth straight road game. That’s quite a bit of travel for 18-22-year-old young men. Let’s play the Hawks on the moneyline.

Best Bet: Weber State +5 (-110) (Fanatics)

I was quite a bit shocked to see this line so high, as my power ratings only make Portland State a 3-point favorite tonight at home. There’s a lot to like about Weber State tonight on the highway. They lost to Portland State back on New Year’s Day, so they’ll be hungry to get even.

The Wilcats also have a lot going for them in some key areas. They rank higher than Portland State in rebounding, offensive efficiency, turnover margin, and current form. Weber State also shoots a higher rate from the free-throw line. That’s more than enough for me to take a shot with them as an underdog.

Yes, I know this is a back-to-back road game spot for Weber State, which is not ideal. However, when you add up the revenge angle with the statistical advantages, I like the Wildcats plus the points. Let’s hope star guard Tijan Saine Jr. brings his A-game.
