This Saturday, the UFC brings the action back to Mexico, a country with a deep passion for combat sports and a history of producing elite fighters. With a stacked lineup featuring rising prospects and seasoned veterans, fans can expect a night filled with electrifying finishes, high-level striking, and relentless grappling.
As fighters step into the Octagon with everything to prove, the stakes are higher than ever, making this an event no fight fan will want to miss. Headlined by a former champion vs a prospering one, who already had a shot at the title, the main event could be a fantastic finish to the evening!
Loopy Godinez burned us last time, and even though I rarely bet a women's side (ML), I've always been a fan of hers. I don't see a world where she loses 3 straight fights in the UFC, especially at Home. Julia Polastri is 1-1 in UFC and hasn't fought near the competition as Loopy. Loopy has 2 straight losses against serious contenders in Verna and Dern, and before that, she beat a very good Tabitha Ricci.
Last time she fought at UFC Noche, she won by Submission. She is 7-5 in UFC, and the last 3 fighters she's fought alone, Polastri hasn't sniffed that kind of competition. Not to mention Loopy also fought Angela Hill and is 3-0 in PPV fights, which shows she steps up on big stages, and fighting at home in Mexico is a huge stage for Mexican fighters. Big step up for Polastri here!
While I usually stay away from UFC debut fighters, David Martinez is one I can get behind. Not only because of his current form, but he doesn’t come into this fight undefeated, which matters! They have this fight on the main card for a reason, because I believe he can contend at the top of the division in the years to come!
He also gets a fighter in Saimon Oliveira, who has been inactive since January 2023. Oliveira is 0-2 in UFC and was KO/TKO in his last fight vs a very good Daniel Marcos. Martinez trains at elevation and is a killer when he gets into the ring, would be shocked come Saturday if this parlay isn't -300 odds as Martinez's closing line could be -500+.
I truly believe Godiinez/Polastri will go to a decision, which hopefully Loopy has done enough damage by that point, so we get our hand raised! Godinez has gone to 3 straight decisions, while both of Polastri’s UFC fights have gone to a decision. I don’t think either is dangerous enough, while both are incredibly durable!
Joe Pyfer has a very tough fight vs Kelvin Gastelum. What we do know is Gastelum is incredibly durable and hard to finish. He is very good at dragging out fights and getting them to the ground. 3 of Gastelums 9 career losses are by submission and I do believe this fight gets to the ground, where Pyfer could be the more cerebral and quicker fighter to spots and could catch a submission!
Parlay: 3% Loopy Godinez ML + David Martinez ML (-123)
Underdog Slip (3.69x)
Lupita Godinez Higher 14.99 Minutes
Joe Pyfer Higher 0.5 Submission
