Main Event Play: Magomed Ankalaev (+100)
We believe this line is extremely telling. Most casual UFC fans are not very familiar with Ankalaev but do know the story of Pereira. While Pereira certainly could put Ankalaev away with one punch, we expect Ankalaev to fight smart in this one and try to get Pereira to the ground.
We have yet to see someone get him into a grappling contest and we believe this is the path to victory that Ankalaev must take and will take. This is also a rather short turnaround for the champ who was active with 3 fights in 2024.
If you do not trust Ankalaev here, it would make sense to take Periera by KO. The longer this fight goes, the better we like Ankalaev’s chances.
Main Card Top Finish Play: Jalin Turner by KO/TKO/DQ (+270)
Ignacio, Turner’s opponent, has yet to be knocked out in his 21-fight career. We believe that comes to an end in this fight. Turner has lost 3 of his last 4 fights but his lone victory did come via KO/TKO.
That marked his 10th win via KO in his 14 victories. We expect Turner to come out with something to prove to get back into the rankings where he believes he should be.
Top Underdog Play: Justin Gaethje (+140)
Much like the main event, we believe if Gaethje can survive the initial onslaught by Fiziev, he will be able to come out victorious. We know that Fiziev loves to come out hot and try to put his opponents away early, but we also know that he has a history of getting gassed quickly as well.
Gaethje is a seasoned vet who will likely be able to avoid the big shots early and use his stamina to wear on Fiziev in the later rounds much like he did in their previous matchup in March of 2023. We expect another decision victory here for Gaethje.
