Details and Terms for Current PokerStars Promo Code Offers

Like just about any sportsbook or online casino, bonus offers are available to get you in the door. PokerStars offers two, although only one can be redeemed.

The most popular offer from PokerStars this August is a fairly typical deposit match. Using the code EWB, new users can receive a 100% bonus of up to $600 when they make their first deposit above $10.

Process to Receive Full Deposit Bonus

You can even make three deposits to get the full value of this bonus offer. So, if you want to test out the waters a bit with a smaller deposit and it turns out you love the site, you can make two more deposits within 60 days of the account’s creation to get the rest of the $600 deposit match.

It’s not an immediate match into your account, though. Depositing $600 initially will not result in $1,200 when you refresh the page. You need to earn redemption points. Redemption points can be received in only one way: playing real money games on PokerStars.

Generally, 5 redemption points will be given to you for every $1 you pay in tournament fees or rake. Play Money tournaments, freeroll tournaments, and any other game without cash fees will not award redemption points. Every 140 redemption points will see $10 added to your account balance and you have four months after each deposit (remember that you have three) to earn all the redemption points you need to unlock your entire deposit match bonus.

Alternative New Player Offers

The alternative bonus is $100 in free play tickets after you play one Cash Game hand. Simple as that. You can only choose one, though, and if you are serious about using PokerStars as your preferred platform along with the vast majority of online poker players, the deposit match would be the better option.

PokerStars History as a US Poker Platform

PokerStars is one of if not the most popular real money online poker sites in the world with over two-thirds of the entire online poker market on their platform. They began their rise to popularity when they decided to keep American players in 2007.

Although they have shifted to become mainly a non-US poker site, they remain incredibly popular in the US and are currently available in three states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. New Jersey was launched in 2013, Pennsylvania in 2019, and Michigan in 2021. PokerStars has added as many new markets as they can and we will need to see if a new state legalizes online poker in 2024 to see if they expand this year.

On average, 15,000 people are playing real money cash games with Pokerstars daily. With plenty of celebrities and tons of game options, PokerStars is one of the top ways to play poker online. There are tournaments with large buy-ins for the serious player as well as tons of more free games and casual options for those who are just trying to dip their toes into the game.

Game and Tournament Options at PokerStars

One of PokerStars most attractive features is the plethora of game options and their constant influx of new players. Their cash games are their most popular and offer the most variation out of any online poker website in the US:

  • Texas Hold’em
  • Omaha
  • Omaha Hi/Lo
  • Courchevel
  • Stud
  • Stud Hi/Lo
  • Razz
  • Five-card draw
  • 2-7 Triple Draw & 2-7 Single Draw
  • Badugi
  • HORSE

Players who cannot choose have the option to play mixed games that rotate throughout a few of the more commonly known poker variations. Spin & Go is another low-stakes game that is a fast-paced version of “sit and go” games (which PokerStars also has) and has payouts ranging from twice the buy-in to even 10,000 times the buy-in. PokerStars also offers Zoom Fast Fold Poker, 6+ Hold’em Short Deck Tables, All-In Hold’em, and Fold Tempest Hold’em.

The highlight of PokerStars’ games, though, is their weekly Sunday Million tournament with a guaranteed $1 million prize pool and $215 buy-in. This is the place to play and an opportunity for any serious poker player to pit themselves against some of the best and take a shot at the massive prizes. Sunday isn’t the only time to play and PokerStars hosts hundreds of thousands of games every day.

Managing Your PokerStars Account

The PokerStars client, from account management to the actual poker software, is a big plus for users. Players have easy access to all the games and tons of data about average pot size and hands per hour are just a click away to help each user find their optimal gaming experience.

Users would be hard-pressed to find a feature they want that PokerStars doesn’t have. And, if they don’t like the look of it or just want to work with a bit of a different layout, there are plenty of customization options offered in the Settings tab.

We strongly recommend all new players review the software tutorial to get a clear understanding of just how powerful the PokerStars platform is. There are a ton of options that allow you to create the online poker experience you are looking for.

The current options for depositing and withdrawing funds are:

  • E-checks
  • 7-Eleven PayNearMe
  • PokerStars Instant Online Banking Transfer
  • PayPal
  • PokerStars Play+ Cage
  • Skrill
  • Neteller
  • The land-based affiliated casino cage
  • MasterCard or Visa

The app versions of PokerStars are equally well designed and mobile players will find no drop in experience compared to the others sitting at the table through a computer. The mobile clients, which are available for both iOS and Android, do not offer as many games, so if you play one of the more niche poker variations, the mobile version may disappoint you. However, for any of the more popular games, mobile apps are everything a poker player could want.

One thing to note about the gameplay is that can sometimes cause confusion. Despite PokerStars’ presence as an international company, US accounts will only be able to play with US accounts.

PokerStars App and Promotions FAQs and Review

PokerStars FAQs

Given the ups and downs that PokerStars has faced here in the US, potential players tend to be curious about where exactly the company stands, and want answers prior to signing up for a new account. We address the main questions we receive regarding PokerStars in the FAQs below. Think we missed something? Contact us and a team member will be happy to help.

Is PokerStars legal in the US?

Despite a checkered history, PokerStars is now legal in each of the US states in which they operate. PokerStars now operates as a regulated, real-money poker option in states where online poker is legal.

Does PokerStars have an app?

Yes, the PokerStars app is available for both Android and iOS. It is important to note that, at the moment, the Android app is a direct download from the PokerStars website.

How old do you have to be to use PokerStars?

18+ years old. New users will be required to provide their name, address, and birth date so that PokerStars can confirm they are who they say they are.

Who can play at PokerStars?

Anybody of legal age and within the state lines of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. You do not have to be a resident in any of these states to play; you only have to be within the boundaries. Websites like PokerStars use exact geolocating services to determine where the user accessing the website is located and will bar you from the website if not within the permitted area.

When will PokerStars be available in other US states?

Currently, there are only six US states that allow online poker: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware, Nevada, and West Virginia. It is unclear when, if ever, PokerStars will get to those states or any other state that legalizes online poker in the future. However, West Virginia is most likely the closest state to PokerStars if we were to speculate.

Current Rating for the PokerStars App and Promotions

PokerStars joins BetMGM Poker and WSOP as one of three poker products that our staff recommends here in the US. While each app has its own set of features that makes it worth using, PokerStars has arguably the best software and largest player pool in the industry.

That being said, the new player promo code offer from PokerStars trails the current bonus available from both BetMGM Poker and WSOP. Additionally, a checkered history here in the US could, eventually, cap the overall number of markets PokerStars is able to operate in. While they are live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan, Nevada has remained against allowing them to operate in their state.

Find the details for our current 4.6 (out of 5) rating for the PokerStars app below.

Review PokerStars Software, Service, and Promotions
Details PokerStars is arguably the biggest brand in the US poker market, and its large player pool is a huge benefit to both new and experienced poker players. A typical table at PokerStars is almost certain to be a mix of new and experienced players. Great promotions like the current deposit bonus are a major factor in the constant influx of new players. Additionally, PokerStars offers the largest tournaments and widest variety of game options in the industry.
