Wednesday night on TNT opens with a matchup that should deliver. The Chicago Blackhawks (4-10-1) travel to Sunrise to face the Florida Panthers (8-5-2) at 7:30 p.m. ET, and Florida is sitting around -250 on the moneyline at most books.
A -250 favorite is not a bet anyone gets excited about alone, so we are building a same-game parlay around Florida’s best storylines: the Panthers laying a goal and a half, a game that leans toward goals, and the Tkachuk brothers on the top power-play unit. Odds below are from FanDuel and Caesars as of Wednesday, so check your own book before you tap anything.
Panthers -1.5 on the Puck Line
Chicago is 1-6 in its last seven games and has been outscored 14-6 during a three-game losing streak, giving up five goals in each of the last two. The Blackhawks are 0-6 on the road this season and rank near the bottom of the league in both goals scored and goals against.
Florida has averaged 4.0 goals per game over its last four outings. The Panthers did lose 5-3 to Detroit last time out, but that game was tied after two periods, and they already beat these same Blackhawks 3-2 last month. Laying 1.5 goals is about even money at FanDuel (-106), which turns a heavy moneyline into a much more fun price.
Over 5.5 Total Goals
FanDuel has the total at 5.5 with the over at -140, while Caesars is hanging 6. The market expects goals, and the matchup backs it up: Chicago’s last two games both went over, and Florida’s offense has been humming. A Panthers win by two or more usually puts them at four goals, and Chicago only needs one or two to get this over the number.
The Blackhawks have enough pop to chip in. Connor Bedard and Roman Kantserov both rate as live goal scorers in the model projections. If you want to see how a total and a puck line behave on the same slip, our same game parlays guide covers it.
Matthew Tkachuk 1+ Assists
Matthew Tkachuk is tied for third in the NHL in assists and has five of them over his last three games. When the Panthers score, the puck very often runs through him, whether on the power play or off the rush. Caesars has him at 1+ assists for -170, which is steep alone but reasonable as a parlay leg when the rest of the slip is priced closer to even money.
Brady Tkachuk Over 0.5 Assists
Here is where the entertainment value kicks in. Brady Tkachuk joined Florida in a June trade with Ottawa, so the Panthers now run both Tkachuk brothers on the top power-play group. Brady has four assists in his last four games, and Caesars has the over 0.5 at -115.
The brothers give this parlay two separate paths to success. If one goes quiet, the other can still cash, and if both are on the ice for a power-play goal, you can hit the puck line, the over, and both props in one shot. For a refresher on how books price these markets, our types of bets breakdown is handy.
The Full Parlay
Put it together and you get a four-leg same-game parlay:
- Panthers -1.5 on the puck line (about -106 at FanDuel)
- Over 5.5 total goals (-140 at FanDuel)
- Matthew Tkachuk 1+ assists (-170 at Caesars)
- Brady Tkachuk over 0.5 assists (-115 at Caesars)
These legs are correlated, so a Panthers blowout helps every one of them, and books price that into the combined payout. Pull up the exact number at your sportsbook before you lock it in. Chicago is reeling, Florida is scoring, and the Tkachuks are a fun duo to hang a ticket on. Bet within your budget and enjoy the show.
