3 NHL Best-of-the-Board Props to Back on November 4

Roman Kantserov, Brandon Montour and Dylan Cozens headline a three-pick NHL props card for Wednesday, November 4, with shots on goal and a point prop at plus-money prices.

Four games, two 7:30 p.m. ET faceoffs up top, a late Pacific swing to close, and a prop board full of numbers that look a little too friendly. When the menu gets this wide, the trick is to skip the silly longshots and shop for the bets that have a real path. Tonight that means a Chicago winger who keeps firing pucks at the net, a Seattle defenseman who treats the blue line like a shooting gallery, and an Ottawa center parked on the first power-play unit.

All three plays came off the model board and held up under a second look at the game logs, the matchups and the lines. Prices below are what we found at DraftKings on Wednesday morning, so check your own book before you click, because hockey props move fast once lineups drop.

Roman Kantserov Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-125)

Chicago is 4-10-1 and heading into Sunrise on a losing streak, which is exactly the kind of game script that pumps up a winger’s shot count. Kantserov has six goals and two assists in 15 games this season, and he has been getting plenty of power-play time, including 8:41 of power-play ice in a 21:12 shift against these same Panthers on October 25.

The shot totals back it up. He fired four against Los Angeles on October 27, two against Florida on October 25 and four against Pittsburgh on October 13, and he managed at least two shots in six of his 15 games on the log. That is not a lock, but it is a healthy base for a number as low as 1.5.

Florida is also banged up, with Aleksander Barkov listed out with a lower-body injury, which loosens up the Panthers a bit. The model has Kantserov at 71.2 percent against an implied price of roughly 56 percent at -125, a 15.6 percent edge that tops the entire board. You are paying a small premium, but this is the cornerstone of the card. It also does not hurt to compare numbers through the DraftKings promo code page if you are new to the app.

Brandon Montour Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+140)

Here is where the plus-money fun starts. Montour is averaging 24:03 of ice time a night for Seattle, which is top-pair, power-play and penalty-kill usage all rolled into one. He has 23 shots on goal through 13 games and has reached three or more in four of them, including four shots in Calgary on October 1 and three against the Flames in Seattle on October 4. He also scored against Toronto on October 28 and added two shots in a loss at Calgary on October 30.

Seattle comes in at 8-5-1 and Calgary at 7-8, and the Kraken are a modest home favorite on the moneyline. Montour has skated more than 23 minutes in most of his recent games, so a three-shot night is well within reach. At +140 the break-even point is about 42 percent, and the model gives him 49.7 percent, an 8.1 percent edge.

The honest caveat is that he has gone under 2.5 shots in more than half his games this season, so this is a volatility play rather than a lock. But a plus-money price on a defenseman who sees this much ice is how you build a profitable week. The puck does not drop until 10 p.m. ET, so you can nurse the first two bets before this one gets going.

Dylan Cozens To Record a Point (+125)

A quick housekeeping note for anyone scanning the board: Dylan Cozens skates for the Ottawa Senators this season, not Buffalo, so the Sabres are the opponent tonight at KeyBank Center. He is on Ottawa’s first line with Tim Stutzle and Fabian Zetterlund, and he is on the first power-play unit alongside Stutzle, Drake Batherson, Jake Sanderson and Stephen Halliday.

The production has been steady, with four goals and six assists through 16 games. The recent stretch is the real selling point: three points (two goals and an assist) in Los Angeles on October 29, then a goal and an assist in San Jose on October 31, before a quiet night in Anaheim on November 1. He is averaging about 17:44 a night, with first-unit power-play time that keeps the floor high.

Ottawa is also without goaltender Linus Ullmark, who is on injured reserve and week-to-week, so Jonas Johansson and Samuel Ersson are the options in net. Buffalo is a small favorite with the total at 6.5, so there should be enough scoring to go around. At +125 you need to hit about 44 percent of the time, and the model has Cozens at 47.9 percent. A 3.4 percent edge is the smallest on this card, but top-line minutes next to Stutzle are a solid foundation for a point prop.

Lock These In

This card is a mix on purpose: one high-probability shot prop, one plus-money defenseman swing and one point prop with real usage behind it. Play them as straight bets, or read up on how a same game parlay works before you start stacking legs. Check your book for current numbers and shop around before you fire.

  • Roman Kantserov OVER 1.5 shots on goal (-125, DraftKings)
  • Brandon Montour OVER 2.5 shots on goal (+140, DraftKings)
  • Dylan Cozens to record a point (+125, DraftKings)

One steady play, one swing and one grinder. Hit two of three and you are in good shape; hit the plus-money pair and you will be telling the story at the next game night.
