3 NHL Best-of-the-Board Props to Back on November 1: Hutson, Bonk and Draisaitl

Two shots-on-goal plays and one Draisaitl goal-scorer pick headline Sunday’s five-game NHL card. Here’s the best of the board for November 1.

Sunday’s NHL board is a full buffet, with five games running from a 1:00 p.m. puck drop in Carolina all the way to Ottawa and Anaheim at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. That’s plenty of room to find prop bets that look better than the moneyline, and today’s card is a mixed plate: two shots-on-goal plays and one anytime goal scorer from the Oilers’ best forward.

Odds are DraftKings numbers as of early Sunday morning, backed by Dimers model probabilities where noted. Prices move all day, so check your book before you tap anything. Here is the best of the board.

Cole Hutson Over 1.5 Shots on Goal vs. Minnesota

Cole Hutson is the Washington rookie defenseman who treats the blue line like a shooting gallery. Through 12 games he has 4 goals and 7 points on 52 shots, which works out to more than four per night. He scored twice in the Capitals’ 4-3 win over Nashville, and Washington is giving him about 19 minutes a game with a heavy dose of offensive-zone starts.

The line is Over 1.5 shots at -125 with a 3:30 p.m. ET start against Minnesota. Dimers’ model gives it a 68.9% probability and a 13.4% edge, and that’s the biggest gap on the board for a play priced this close to even money. When a player averages more than twice the number you need, a short price like -125 is a fair deal. If you want to see how that price translates to a payout, our how betting odds work guide breaks it down.

Oliver Bonk Over 1.5 Shots on Goal vs. Utah

This is the spicy one. Philadelphia’s Oliver Bonk is a right-shot defenseman (a 2023 first-round pick) who has played nine games this season, with 5 assists and 10 shots, and he logs around 19 minutes a night. Ten shots in nine games doesn’t scream volume, and in his last outing, a 5-2 loss at Washington, he managed just one shot. So why bother?

Because the price is doing a lot of work. Over 1.5 is listed at +160, which implies roughly a 38% chance, while the Dimers simulation puts it at 66.8%. That is a 28.4% edge, the largest on the entire Sunday slate. He picks up some power play time, Philadelphia is 3-8-4 and chasing games, and a defenseman only needs two looks to cash this one. Treat it as a value swing rather than a lock, size it smaller than the others, and check your book for the number before puck drop at 4:00 p.m.

Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal Scorer at the Rangers

Every card needs a star, and Leon Draisaitl is playing like one. The Oilers’ number 29 has 12 goals and 24 points through 12 games, firing 46 shots at a blistering 26.1% clip, which is 3.8 shots per game. That shooting percentage will cool at some point, but with that kind of volume he is a threat every shift, and he has a power play to work with.

Edmonton comes to Madison Square Garden at 10-2-2 and sitting atop the Western Conference, with the game set for 6:00 p.m. ET. The Rangers are expected to go with Dylan Garand in goal, who has a 2.69 GAA and a .899 save percentage on the season, though the starter isn’t confirmed, so keep an eye on the lineup. We don’t have a confirmed anytime goal price for Draisaitl, so check your book. Stars at this strike rate rarely come cheap, so shop around, and our player prop search tool is a quick way to compare numbers.

Lock These In

Two shot totals and a goal scorer make for a fun Sunday afternoon on the couch. Hutson is the steady one, Bonk is the high-variance value hunt, and Draisaitl is the star turn. If you like stacking legs, our same game parlays page explains how those work, though these three come from different games, so treat them as separate bets.

  • Cole Hutson (WSH) OVER 1.5 shots on goal vs. MIN (-125)
  • Oliver Bonk (PHI) OVER 1.5 shots on goal vs. UTA (+160)
  • Leon Draisaitl (EDM) anytime goal scorer at NYR (check your book for price)
