Week 18 of the NFL season is finally here, which means that teams have just one final week to either establish their position in the playoffs or head into the offseason with hopes of improving in 2025.
While there are a few important games on the slate this weekend, none are as impactful as the matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions, which is fittingly on Sunday Night Football. These two teams went to war in a dogfight earlier this season, with the Lions winning, 31-29.
Will history repeat itself? Or will the Vikings pull it out, securing the No. 1 spot in the NFC North and getting the coveted first-round bye? As we prepare for this widely anticipated matchup, let’s get into our favorite player props from the week, all of which can be found on various sportsbooks below!
What is this line? Sam Darnold has been going off for the past several weeks, and he’s coming off a masterclass performance against the Green Bay Packers last week.
He threw for 377 yards in that game, and while we’re not projecting that many yards against the Lions, it wouldn’t be out of the question for him to throw for 300+ in this matchup. With an over/under currently set at 55.5 points, this should be a shootout, and we’re all in on Darnold having a big game.
It takes two to tango, and Jared Goff will be looking to play a part in this shootout. Goff has also been spectacular all season, and he’ll need to throw a lot to stay with Darnold and the Vikings in this one.
The Ryan Gosling lookalike has thrown for 280+ yards in four straight games and considering how well he played against the Vikings earlier this season, look for Goff to have another big performance. He too, could throw for 300+, so we’ll confidently take the over when the line is set at 271.5.
Year 3 has been awesome for Jameson Williams. He’s proven to be worth the No. 12 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft and looks to keep his momentum going in this Sunday Night Football slugfest.
Williams and Goff continue to establish their connection, and the third-year wideout is a threat to have a 40+ yard catch at any moment. Look for Williams to be involved in the gameplan early, logging at least 58 yards and cashing this with ease.
