Thursday night’s primetime game will feature two teams desperately needing wins to remain in playoff contention as the Minnesota Vikings (3-3) travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers (4-3).
The Vikings enter the game having lost two of their past three matchups. Minnesota’s losses include both teams from Pennsylvania: the Steelers and Eagles earned narrow victories over the NFC North team thus far.
Los Angeles’ run over the past four games has been worse, dropping three of those games. The Chargers’ only win during that span came against the Miami Dolphins, a 29-27 squeaker on the road.
Can Minnesota right the Vikings’ ship, or will the Chargers electrify their home crowd with a win? We’ll cover that and provide bettors with our top three player props for Thursday’s NFL action.
| Player | Prop | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Justin Jefferson | Over 75.5 Reception Yards | |
| Justin Jefferson | Under 78.5 Reception Yards |
Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson OVER 78.5 Receiving Yards
There is a reason that Minnesota wide receiver Justin Jefferson set the market for wide receivers’ compensation in 2024. He’s worth every penny. Even with the Vikings’ struggle at the quarterback position (more on that later), he’s still caught 34 passes for 528 yards and one score in 2025.
What do Marquise Brown, Cortland Sutton, Deebo Samuel, and Jaylen Waddle have in common? These wide receivers have all posted over 90 receiving yards against the Chargers this season. That’s why bettors should take Jefferson to cover his player prop wager on Thursday.
| Player | Prop | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Kimani Vidal | Over 18.5 Rush Yards | |
| Kimani Vidal | Under 18.5 Rush Yards |
Los Angeles Chargers RB Kimani Vidal OVER 50.5 Rushing Yards
The Chargers took running back Omarion Hampton late in the 2025 NFL Draft first round. While he’s shown flashes this season of what he’ll become, a left ankle injury has him sidelined for at least two more outings.
Los Angeles inserted unheralded second year running back Kimani Vidal into the starting lineup, and he’s been a strong addition. Two weeks ago, Vidal posted 124 rushing yards against the Dolphins, showing he’s capable of producing a big day.
Last week notwithstanding, Minnesota’s run defense has been abysmal. Three running backs have posted 100-yard outings against the Vikings in their first six games. That’s why Vidal is an overwhelming favorite to eclipse the 50-yard mark on Thursday and cover his player prop bet.
| Player | Prop | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Carson Wentz | Over 209.5 Pass Yards | |
| Carson Wentz | Under 212.5 Pass Yards |
Minnesota Vikings QB Carson Wentz OVER 222.5 Passing Yards
Jefferson’s quarterback in this game will be Carson Wentz, a decision the Vikings announced earlier this week. Wentz was supposed to be the team’s insurance policy for J.J. McCarthy. Minnesota has had to cash in that policy in four games thus far.
This year, Wentz is completing nearly 67 percent of his passes for 1,072 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions. His best game to date was against Pittsburgh in September, a contest where he threw for 350 yards, two touchdowns, and two picks.
The Chargers are giving up just 205 yards passing on the season, but opponents are completing more than 61 percent of their passes against Los Angeles. That bodes well for Wentz, and bettors should take him to surpass his player prop wager total on Thursday.
Best Bet: OVER 44.5 Points
The Chargers raced out to a 3-0 start by beating all of their AFC West rivals, but Los Angeles has struggled against the rest of the NFL. Home contests tend to favor the hosts, but a 3.5-point spread is – ironically – too high for this game.
Bettors should look to the over/under instead. Minnesota has allowed 20 points per outing over its last three, and the Chargers are yielding more than 30 during that span. The savvy move is to take the over on this 44.5-point combined total for Thursday’s game.
