Sunday, December 8 at 1:00 PM | Spread | Money | Total |

The 8-2 Pittsburgh Steelers square off with the 2-8 Cleveland Browns for Thursday Night Football this week. Pittsburgh has won 5 straight games and are coming off an 18-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens last week. The win placed them firmly above the Ravens at the top of the AFC North division.
The win over Baltimore came without the Steelers scoring a single touchdown. They used 6 Chris Boswell field goals to put up their 18 points and the defense was able to hold the vaunted Ravens offense to just under 330 total yards and 16 points. They also forced 3 Raven turnovers which was key in the victory. The Steelers are now 2nd in the league in opponents points per game (16.2).
Cleveland has lost 7 of their last 8, with their last win coming 2 weeks ago against those same Baltimore Ravens. Last week, the Browns were manhandled by the New Orleans Saints. The 35-14 loss was the largest margin of defeat for the Browns this season.
Despite the loss, Jameis Winston was able to rack up over 375 yards through the air and connected with receiver Jerry Jeudy for 6 balls that went for 142 yards and a score. The run game was unable to get going and finished with just 66 yards in total.
The biggest issue was the defense or lack thereof. The Browns allowed the Saints to run for over 200 yards on the ground and finish with almost 475 total yards.
This spread seems a bit trappy. The Steelers are a much better team than the Browns and seemingly should be at least a touchdown favorite. However, we find them just over a field goal favorite here by the oddsmakers.
We believe caution is the way to tread with this game. The Steelers seem too good to be true here, so we are going to play the under in this one.
Cleveland is averaging the exact same number of points per game that the Steelers are allowing on the season (16.2). We expect a boring low-scoring game in this one.
