Week 16 of the NFL season has already provided a lot of exciting games and matchups. For instance, the Los Angeles Chargers squeaked by the Denver Broncos in an instant thriller, and the Washington Commanders pulled out a last-second win over the Philadelphia Eagles after Jalen Hurts went down with an injury.
It’s been a great week thus far, but there’s still one game left on the slate, and we’re excited to go over our favorite player props from the matchup! The Green Bay Packers might be heavy, heavy favorites over the New Orleans Saints, but that’s not going to stop us from heading over to Underdog to put together our top picks. Let’s dive in!
We heard this over on Josh Jacobs’ rushing yardage line is one of the most-bet props on MNF, which might cause some people to stray away from him. Regardless of how high the public is on Jacobs, we’re extremely confident in his ability to hit the over on this line and exceed it by an impressive margin.
The Packers are expected to blow the Saints out of the water considering they are missing some of their top players, and if they get out to an early lead, expect them to hammer Jacobs down the stretch. He’s been their go-to player all year, and as evidenced by their game last week, the Packers aren’t afraid to go back to that well since it keeps working.
This prop goes hand-in-hand with the Jacobs pick. Jordan Love shouldn’t need to do a lot in tonight’s game, especially since the Saints are rolling out Spencer Rattler under center. Rattler could make a lot of mistakes early on in this game, giving the Packers the ball in prime position.
Love should be efficient and effective in the first half, but if they get out to a 14+ point lead by halftime, he’ll likely take his foot off the gas, limiting his passing attempts. We believe he’ll attempt closer to 20 passes than 30, which is why we’re taking the under in this spot.
To this point, we have talked about how we believe the Packers are going to blow the Saints out of the water. Since that is our expectation, we also believe Rattler is going to be in a negative game script from the get-go, needing to throw the ball a lot to dig his team out of an early hole.
With Alvin Kamara out with injury, the Saints won’t be able to rely on the running game as much as they’d like, another reason for us to take the over on Rattler’s passing attempts line.
