Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This holiday season, we’re thankful for many things, especially the NFL’s decision to have not one, but two games on Christmas day! As you’re unwrapping gifts and recovering from a food coma on Christmas day, you’ll also be able to watch some highly-anticipated games, starting Week 17 with some fantastic matchups.
We’re going to break down our favorite player props from these matchups, which ends with the battle between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans. Let’s get into it!
Lamar Jackson has been on an absolute tear lately. He’s single-handedly keeping the Ravens in the AFC North race, hoping to do enough to overtake the Pittsburgh Steelers down the stretch. Considering he’s facing the Texans this week, a team that’s also going to make the playoffs, look for Jackson to have another huge game and throw for at least 215 yards.
He’s reached this mark in two of his past three games, a three-week stretch where he’s thrown 10 touchdown passes. It seems silly to bet against him with this hot streak in mind, so we’re riding with the hot hand on Christmas Day.
C.J. Stroud is having a relatively disappointing season given how dominant he was in 2023. He’s taken a slight downturn in production but has still done enough to put the Texans in a prime position to make the playoffs again. The last few weeks have been increasingly positive for Stroud, as he’s thrown at least two touchdown passes in three of his past four outings.
In a game where he might be in a negative game script, look for Stroud to throw the ball a lot, connecting with pass-catchers for at least two touchdowns.
Many fantasy football managers expected Dalton Schultz to have a breakout season heading into 2024, but that hasn’t been the reality for most of the season. With Stroud’s noted struggles at the beginning of the year, Schultz wasn’t able to have the strong start that many hoped for. However, as Stroud’s game picks up, Schultz has been a stronger part of the gameplan and popped for five receptions for 45 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs last week.
We like his odds of having another fantastic game this week against the Ravens, as he is a safety blanket for Stroud in this offense if nothing else. With that said, we’re taking the over on his receptions line, hoping he logs at least four catches in this one.
