Look what we’ve got here – a classic matchup between the New York Jets and New England Patriots. Suddenly, the Patriots are watchable again (so far) and are looking to notch their second win of the year against the Aaron Rodgers led Jets. The Jets have underwhelmed so far this year but some of that we can chalk up to rust on Rodgers’ part.
This matchup likely won’t wind up in any “game of the year” discussions and the scoreboard will probably reflect a degree of offensive futility. That being said, any time we get an early season divisional matchup between these two teams, there’s added intrigue.
The Jets have opened up as a 6.5-point favorite for Thursday night. If they can get that offense going, they may be able to outpace the Patriots who have been a bit more anemic on offense with quarterback Jacoby Brissett under center.
Odds makers seem to believe that it will be a fairly low-scoring matchup, though, as the Jets haven’t played a lot of offense yet this season and the Patriots O moves at a snail’s pace.
There are several different routes we can take to build a great same-game parlay for this one, but we’ve got a few different picks we believe will be locks and will allow you to cash in on the action.

Rhamondre Stevenson | Yes Anytime Touchdown Scorer |
I took a look at how Stevenson has been used down close to the goal this season, and he has had the vast majority of touches when the Patriots are looking to punch it in.
This should be a low-scoring game, but we definitely like Stevenson to have his opportunities to score from in close.
You’re going to get your money’s worth with this one. There’s evidence to point towards the under hitting here but hear me out. In a divisional game where both teams are looking for their second victory, I think the offenses on both sides may come out firing.
I firmly believe the under will hit overall in this game, but my feeling is that the defenses will buckle down in the second half to accomplish that. This could very easily be a 10-10 sort of game at the half.

Garrett Wilson | Over 60.5 Reception Yards | |
Garrett Wilson | Under 61.5 Reception Yards |
Much has been made of the Garrett Wilson – Aaron Rodgers partnership so far this season. While we don’t know what the duo will achieve, the early returns haven’t been earth-shattering.
Still, don’t be surprised if Wilson breaks one for a serious chunk of yards early on in this one as the Jets look to make a statement after picking up the first win of the Rodgers regime last week.
This Thursday Night Football matchup gives us a great divisional matchup featuring two above average defensive units and offensive units that are still somewhat question marks.
The addition of Aaron Rodgers moves the needle quite a bit in the Jet’s direction but expect the Patriots to hang around for the duration.
