Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings

At 7-8, the Packers have won 4 of their last 6 games and in the mix with a chance to win the wildcard in the NFC. Jordan Love has looked solid in his last 2 starts where he has completed over 65% of his passes and tossed 4 touchdowns without an interception. The 22.2ppg the Packers have averaged is good enough to be ranked 11th in the NFL.

Their ability to convert on 3rd downs at a 44.7% rate is 6th best in the league and has allowed the Packers to consistently extend their drives. However, 3 of their top WRs are all questionable for this contest with the rival Vikings. Time will tell exactly who Jordan Love will have available.

The Vikings have lost 4 of their last 5 and hold the same record as the Packers. They have announced that rookie QB, Jaren Hall from BYU will be starting under center. This marks the 4th different starter the Vikings have thrown out there this season.

Fellow rookie, Jordan Addison, has been a bright spot for their offense and with Justin Jefferson returning, the Vikings are averaging a 3rd best 274.9 passing yards per game. The defense has been good enough to hold opponents under 20ppg on the season and kept them in most of their games.

Best Bet: Packers +1.5

This line makes no sense to us. The Packers should be a favorite here but for some reason, the bookmakers believe that Jaren Hall will be an upgrade for the Vikings in this matchup.

However, we are going to ride with Jordan Love, who has been playing at a much higher rate as of late in the season and should have at least 2 good targets in his wide receiving corps.

Key Betting Trends for Green Bay at Minnesota

  • GB is 3-0 ATS in their last 3 games as an underdog.
  • GB is 5-2 ATS when they have equal rest compared to their opponents.
  • Minn is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games at home.
  • Minn is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games played in week 17.

Jaren Hall INT (-120) (BetMGM)

  • The rookie is not just starting any random game, this is the biggest rival of the franchise, and the nerves will be high.
  • Green Bay is near the bottom in INTs but have not had the opportunities that Hall will give them here.

Jordan Love OVER 1.5 Passing TDs (-130) (DraftKings)

  • In 6 of his last 7 games, Love has thrown for at least 2 TDs in the game.
  • The Vikings just allowed Jake Browning to throw for 2 against them 2 weeks ago.

Ty Chandler OVER 61.5 Rushing Yards (-120) (DraftKings)

  • Chandler is averaging just over this number in his last 3 games.
  • Green Bay is allowing 135.9 rushing yards per game which is 3rd worst in the league.
