Week 7 brings a full Sunday of football with something for every kind of fan, from an early-morning kickoff in Paris to a Sunday Night Football showdown in Seattle. There are twelve games on the board, an unbeaten 49ers team on the road, a bitter AFC North rivalry rematch, and an NFC North heavyweight bout in Detroit. If you only have time to watch a handful of games, these four are the ones worth clearing the couch for.
Packers at Lions: The NFC North Gets Loud
The marquee afternoon game comes at 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox, where Green Bay (4-2) visits Detroit (3-2) at Ford Field. The Lions are a 3-point home favorite, and the total sits at 53.5, the highest number on the entire Sunday board. That is a clear signal that oddsmakers expect points, and with Jordan Love and Jared Goff both throwing to deep receiver rooms, it is hard to argue.
The Packers have won three straight after a 1-2 start, and Love is not on their final injury report after dealing with a sore back earlier in the week. Matthew Golden also looks set to play after his 104-yard receiving day in the win over Dallas. Green Bay is thin on the defensive interior and at linebacker, with Zaire Franklin officially ruled out. Detroit, meanwhile, has the rest advantage, having not played since October 11, and will lean on Jahmyr Gibbs against that depleted front.
Watch for this one to be a back-and-forth shootout. If you like a game with a lively pace, this is the one to put on the biggest screen in the house. Anyone who wants to dig into how totals and spreads work before kickoff can brush up with our NFL betting guide.
Chiefs at Seahawks: Kenneth Walker Goes Home
Sunday Night Football on NBC delivers the best storyline of the week. The unbeaten Chiefs (5-0) travel to Lumen Field to face the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks (3-3), and the man leading the charge is running back Kenneth Walker III, who now suits up for Kansas City and faces his old team. Seattle is a 3-point favorite with a total of 42.5, and it is the first game this season in which the Chiefs have been underdogs.
Walker has been the engine of Kansas City’s turnaround. He piled up 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 22-6 win over the Chargers, and he leads the league in rushing yards. Seattle, on the other hand, is coming off consecutive losses and is dealing with injuries at running back and linebacker, with Zach Charbonnet out. Quarterback Sam Darnold is coming off a two-interception game against a Chiefs defense that has been stingy.
For the casual viewer, this is appointment television: revenge-game drama, Patrick Mahomes in prime time, and a loud Seattle crowd. The low total suggests a grind, so expect a game decided by a handful of possessions.
49ers at Falcons: Can Anyone Stop San Francisco?
At 1 p.m. ET on Fox, the 49ers (6-0) visit the Falcons (2-4) as a 2.5-point road favorite, with the total set at 49.5. San Francisco’s offense has been humming, with Brock Purdy leading the way and the 49ers scoring nearly 30 points per game. The Falcons are in a tough spot, having lost two straight, and they will be without running back Brian Robinson.
The fun part is the backfield showcase. Christian McCaffrey and Bijan Robinson work out together in the offseason, and now they share a field. Robinson touched the ball just nine times last week, and Atlanta will want to get its best player more involved. San Francisco has dealt with injuries to its receiving corps, including Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel, while Nick Bosa is also out on the defensive line.
It is a classic trap-game setup for a team playing cross-country, which makes this a fun one to flip to if you want to see whether the unbeaten run can survive another week.
Bengals at Ravens: An AFC North Grudge Match
Cincinnati (3-2) comes off a bye to face Baltimore (4-2) at 1 p.m. ET on CBS, with the Ravens favored by 1.5 and the total at 48.5. This one is close to a pick-em on the betting boards, and the big question is whether Lamar Jackson plays. The Ravens quarterback has missed two games with a high ankle sprain, was listed as questionable after limited practice on Friday, and said he is “headed in the right direction.” Tyler Huntley has gone 1-1 as the starter in his place.
Joe Burrow and the Bengals have lost six of their last eight against Baltimore, including a 24-0 shutout last year, so there is plenty of motivation. Cincinnati also needs divisional wins to stay in the AFC North race, as Baltimore, Cleveland and Pittsburgh are all bunched at the top. Keep an eye on the matchup between Baltimore pass rusher Trey Hendrickson and Bengals left tackle Orlando Brown Jr.
Check the inactives before kickoff, because Jackson’s status could swing the line. For those curious about how a late quarterback change moves a number, our guide to live betting covers how prices can shift quickly.
