New York Jets vs Minnesota Vikings

The 1st game of the London series of the year will take place early Sunday at 9:30 am ET. It will feature a matchup between the 2-2 New York Jets and the surprising 4-0 Minnesota Vikings. Sam Darnold has stepped into the starting role after they lost rookie JJ McCarthy for the season during the preseason.

Under Darnold, they are averaging 29ppg which is 4th in the league. They are also 4th in the league in points allowed per game (14.8ppg). On top of that, they lead the league in both sacks and interceptions. They fended off a furious comeback bid in their last game against the rival Green Bay Packers, where they led 28-0 at one point.

The Jets could only muster 64 rushing yards last game and fell to the Denver Broncos 10-9 in an ugly game all around. The Jets converted on just 23.5% of their 3rd down attempts in the game and could not get their offense going at all. Garrett Wilson has yet to sniff 100 yards in a game and only scored once this season. Davante Adams is being linked to these Jets after the Raiders announced that he will be on the trading block. It could serve the Jets well by making the move but that will not happen before this contest.

Best Bet: Vikings -2.5

In both of their wins this season, the Jets ran for over 100 yards, and in their 2 losses, they failed to exceed that number. They now face a Minnesota rush defense that is 2nd in the league.

This will pose a serious problem for a Jets team that simply cannot have success offensively unless they establish a run game. The Jets defense should be able to hold Justin Jefferson in check with Sauce Gardener but that could open things up for the run game and Aaron Jones.

We like the Vikes to get it done in London this weekend. Let's lay the small number!
