NFL fans week 7 is here with a lot of matchups I am excited to dig into! Detroit at Minnesota, Houston at Green Bay, and Kansas City at San Francisco. We have big games across the board and I have found one play I like a lot!
This week the Jets head to the Steel City to take on the Steelers. Those who love defense are going to love this game! And, if you like explosive offenses, well, this game may not be for you! This Sunday night matchup is sure to draw some eyeballs, and we have a play for it!
Sunday, December 8 at 1:00 PM | Spread | Money | Total |
Cleveland Browns | +7 (-120) | +250 | O 44 (-110) |
Pittsburgh Steelers | -7 (100) | -270 | U 43.5 (-110) |
Perhaps a surprise to some as they read this, but yes, the Jets have started games well! And data backs it up too! The Jets started well out of the gates in Monday night's game against the Bills. In their 1st game with a new HC & Offensive play caller, the Jets stormed out to a 17-10 halftime lead.
The Jets are no stranger to having the lead at halftime! The Jets have led at halftime in 3 of their last 4 games, which I believe is a good trend to back. Pittsburgh on the other hand is trending in the opposite direction. They have allowed opponents to have the halftime lead in 4 of their 6 games this season!
Some first half stats to wet your whistle. In 1st halfs, the Jets average 9.7 points and allow 8.04 points, good for (+1.66 differential). While the Steelers average 6.7 points and allow 11.2 points, (-4.50 differential).
It is reported Russell Wilson could be tabbed the starting QB, in a wild move by the Steelers. It is not confirmed yet, and though Fields has not killed this offense, he is not generating the points they need to take the next level. They have a top 10 defense and one of the best special teams in football.
The Steelers kicker, Chris Boswell is currently 3rd in the league in points with 58, and has almost outscored the Steelers on offense. They have scored 11 total touchdowns, equating to 66 points. If they do make a move, I love it for this bet.
Wilson has not looked good in his most recent starts. He tends to make poor decisions trying to play outside the pocket. In his 1st game, I don't expect the first half to go smoothly, especially against this Jets defense. Even if he does not get the nod, I trust Rodgers and his new crew over Fields/Wilson, especially favoring the Jets defense, over the Steelers defense (even at home).
Best Bet: Jets 1st Half ML (-110) Bet365
