Good morning to everyone, except the New England Patriots! (Spoiler Alert: I had the Pats +3, so I'm still a little bitter this morning!). Of all the ways to lose a bet, a last-minute safety is definitely one of the most painful!
Since it's Monday, it's time to take a look back at the crazy bets and bad beats from NFL Week 6. If you had the Patriots, just know you're in good company. If you happen to have had a winning week, congrats and pay it forward to someone who's struggling.
BAD BEAT: Mac Jones takes a safety to kill #Patriots +3 bettors

I've been betting on sports for 22 years and I can honestly say that the bad beats don't get any easier to deal with over time. I thought yesterday was a good "buy-low" spot on New England and took them at the +3 price. It was the right side, the right number, and the wrong result!
The Pats offense continued to struggle, even against the porous Las Vegas defense. New England accumulated just 259 yards of total offense and they looked like the Iowa Hawkeyes of the NFL yesterday. As bad as the offense was, the Pats were still covering the +3 spread with under 2 minutes to go.
That's when things got dicey. On 3rd down and 15, Mac Jones took the snap and pump faked to a wide-open receiver running over the middle. I have no idea why he didn't pull the trigger on that throw, but less than 2 seconds later Max Crosby was slamming him into the ground for a safety.
Though the safety had no outcome on the result of the game, it resulted in a BAD BEAT for everyone who took New England +3. Monday Night Football can't come fast enough so that I can put this wager in the rearview mirror.
A bettor in NJ just placed $235,128.21 on the Texans ML (+118) today 😮

The Houston Texans were picked by many people to once again have a terrible season. However, head coach DeMeco Ryans has this group fighting hard each week and they've already picked up 3 wins this year. One of those wins made a certain sports bettor from New Jersey extremely happy in Week 6.
The Texans were a slight home underdog (+118) to the New Orleans Saints. This sports bettor at Caesars believed in the home dog so much that he placed a wager of over $235,000 on them to win straight up. What was the result?
Things couldn't have gone smoother! Houston scored first on a Dalton Schultz touchdown reception, and they never trailed the entire game! Derek Carr hit Rashid Shaheed for a 34-yard touchdown to tie things up, but the Texans surprisingly dominated the rest of the way.
Rookie QB CJ Stroud, who now leads the race for Offensive Rookie of the Year, threw for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns to put Houston over the top. Nico Collins led the team with 4 receptions for 80 receiving yards. That helped send our crazy bettor home with a win of more than $277,000!
Don't sleep on this Texans team this season. They are no longer in the basement of the AFC South! Thanks for reading and good luck with your bets this week!
