Commanders vs. Lions 3 Player Props and Best Bet

The only upset in the NFL’s Wild Card weekend happened when the Washington Commanders (13-5) defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. Now, those Commanders are on the road a second time, heading north to face the NFC’s top-seed Detroit Lions (15-2) on Saturday.

Washington has now won six straight contests, dating back to their first game in December. That includes a win over the Philadelphia Eagles, the second seed in the NFC this season. The Commanders have won five straight games by six points or less.

Detroit is winning with the NFL’s highest-scoring offense this season. The Lions are posting 33.2 points per game, and the team is second to only the Baltimore Ravens with 409.5 offensive yards per contest.

Can Washington match the Lions’ prolific offense score for score? We’ll cover that and our three best player prop bets.

Live player props data coming soon for Jared Goff.

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff UNDER 272.5 Passing Yards

Detroit quarterback Jared Goff has enjoyed another sterling season in 2024. The top overall pick from the 2016 NFL Draft finished his eighth year with 4,629 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Although the Commanders have a strong pass defense, their running defense has been hit or miss. Detroit runs the ball as well as any team in the league, and Jahmyr Gibbs should have a strong outing. Take Goff to finish under this player prop bet on Saturday.

Live player props data coming soon for Jayden Daniels.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels OVER 53.5 Rushing Yards

Washington has a sure-fire lock in the Offensive Rookie of the Year award candidate Jayden Daniels. The first-year quarterback completed 69 percent of his passes for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

He’s also lethal with his feet. Daniels led his team with 891 rushing yards, scoring six times during the regular season. Against Tampa Bay, Daniels ran the ball 13 times for 36 yards to pace the Commanders in the Wild Card matchup.

Detroit is allowing quarterbacks to pick up significant yards against their defense despite seeing signal-callers who are dual threats. When they’ve faced one this season, the Lions have surrendered over 60 yards each time. Expect Daniels to do the same and cover this player prop bet.

Live player props data coming soon for Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown OVER 74.5 Receiving Yards

Detroit has one of the game’s best wide receivers in Amon-Ra St. Brown. The fourth-year player leads the Lions with 115 receptions for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns, stats that rank among the top five in the NFL during the regular season.

Washington has given up big totals to opponents’ top-tier receiving options. There’s little reason to believe the Commanders will stop St. Brown in this contest, and bettors should take him to go over this player prop amount on Saturday.

Best Bet: Detroit (-9.5)

The Commanders have exceeded expectations significantly in their first season under Dan Quinn. Washington can expect repeat trips to the playoffs with Daniels leading the charge, and the defense should only get better with another year in this system.

Still, the Lions have looked dominant this season in all phases and are getting healthier at the right time. Expect a rocking Ford Field environment as Detroit drives on to the NFC Championship game with a convincing victory Saturday night.
