The NFL playoffs are nearly upon us, and there are some great matchups taking place this weekend. Fans are anxious to see what their favorite teams can do in some banner contests, hoping desperately that they can advance to the Divisional Round.
We’re going to break down our favorite Underdog player props from each game, this time, going over the matchup between the Washington Commanders and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are a three-point favorite at home, which is effectively pick-em at this point.
Can Jayden Daniels make a splash in his playoff debut? Or will the experienced Buccaneers squad take them down, hoping to make it back to the divisional round? We’ll soon find out, but with an over/under set at 50.5, this could be a high-scoring affair. Let’s take a look at our player prop picks and see if we can sweep the board!
This line feels a bit too low for Baker Mayfield, who has been torching his competition all season. Mayfield can sling the rock all around the field, as he’s shown in many games this year, including the first game of the season against the Commanders, where he threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns.
There’s no reason for us to take the under for his passing yardage line, especially since this game is slated to be a shootout. Look for Mayfield to keep the hot streak going, throwing for a ton of yards and keeping the pressure on Daniels and the Commanders.
Jayden Daniels didn’t have a great game against the Buccaneers in the season opener, but that was his first game as a pro. He’s gotten much, much better since that game, especially improving his passing numbers.
Daniels has put up several big games this season, and he’ll need to have some heroics in this one to give the Commanders the best possible opportunity to win this game. Daniels should have closer to 300 passing yards than 230, giving us confidence that he’ll crush the over on this line.
If you didn’t know Olamide Zaccheaus’ name before the 2024 season, we can’t fault you for that. He’s bounced around the league a bit but has found a place for himself with the Commanders, especially over the past few weeks.
Daniels has established a great connection with him, which has reared its head in the Commanders’ past three games, where Zaccheaus has logged 51+ yards in each. He doesn’t need many targets to hit the over on this line, so we’re happy to take it when it’s offered at 36.5.
