Week 14 of the NFL season has been a whirlwind thus far, and it’s not over! We have one final matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Chargers, a game that means a lot to both of these clubs.
The Eagles are two games ahead of the Dallas Cowboys for the NFC East title, but with the Cowboys playing well lately, they need to keep their foot on the gas to keep them at bay. The Chargers are three games back of the Denver Broncos for the AFC West title, but can move to within two with a win tonight.
There’s a lot at stake in this one, so we’re excited to see how it all goes down. Let’s get into our favorite player props from this game, hoping to start the work week with a sweep!
Jalen Hurts OVER 188.5 Passing Yards
Jalen Hurts’ passing performances have been a roller coaster this year, to say the least. In some games, he’s unafraid to throw the ball a ton, getting the ball to his receivers. In others, the Eagles are more reliant on their run game, which has been largely stagnant for much of the year.
While he’s been shaky at times, we’re actually taking the over on his passing total here. Number one, it’s set at just 192.5 yards, and he’s gone over this line in his past two games.
Number two, we anticipate the Chargers keeping this game close throughout, even taking the lead at times, so Hurts will need to throw the ball a lot. Don’t overthink the over in this one, even if Hurts is more known as a rusher than a dynamic passer.
Justin Herbert OVER 209.5 Passing Yards
Justin Herbert’s status has been in flux since he injured his hand last week, but most reports indicate that he’s going to play. Thankfully, the injury is to his non-throwing hand, so we’re not worried about his ability to sling the rock.
We’re getting a heavy discount on his passing line considering his injury, which we’ll absolutely take on this Monday Night Football matchup. Omarion Hampton is coming back tonight, which might make some people hesitant to take any Herbert lines, but given his propensity to throw the ball, we’re not worried about him having a big night.
Quentin Johnston OVER 33.5 Receiving Yards
After a hot start to the season, Quentin Johnston has cooled off in a big way over the past several weeks, which includes a game with three targets and no catches against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
However, with our prediction that Herbert is going to throw the ball a lot tonight, Johnston should get some looks, and he doesn’t have many catches to go over this line. He’s a big-play threat that doesn’t have any problems getting downfield, so we’re hoping he hits the over on this line in the first half, making it sweat-free.
