Long-time NFL fans will remember when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1) were in the NFC North, annually facing off twice a year against the Detroit Lions (4-2). That changed in 2002 when the NFL realigned the Buccaneers in the NFC South, creating eight four-team divisions.
Monday’s renewal of these former divisional rivals creates a high-stakes matchup. The Buccaneers are currently atop the NFC standings, and their lone blemish was a Week 4 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Detroit has two losses, but both belong to likely playoff teams. The Green Bay Packers defeated the Lions to open the season, and Kansas City ended Detroit’s four-game winning streak in last week’s Sunday primetime game.
Can the Lions start a new winning streak to keep pace with the Buccaneers? We’ll cover that and provide bettors with our top three player props for Monday’s first part of a terrific doubleheader.
| Player | Prop | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Baker Mayfield | Over 209.5 Pass Yards | |
| Baker Mayfield | Under 211.5 Pass Yards |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield OVER 240.5 Passing Yards
Quarterback Baker Mayfield is the reason Tampa Bay is once again among the NFL’s top passing offenses. Thus far, he’s completed over 66 percent of his passes for 1,539 passing yards and 12 touchdowns. He’s thrown only one interception, moving him into potential league MVP discussions.
In the past three outings, Mayfield has finished with at least 256 passing yards. Detroit is a middle-of-the-pack team against the pass, but half of their opponents have posted at least 251 passing yards. Expect this seasoned signal-caller to increase that number on Monday night, covering his passing prop.
| Player | Prop | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Amon-Ra St. Brown | Over 75.5 Reception Yards | |
| Amon-Ra St. Brown | Under 76.5 Reception Yards |
Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown OVER 77.5 Receiving Yards
The Lions have one of the game’s top wide receivers in Amon-Ra St. Brown. The fifth-year veteran has a team-best 452 receiving yards on 44 receptions, and he’s scored six touchdowns this season to lead the NFL.
After a nine-catch, 45-yard performance against the Chiefs, bettors should expect he’ll rebound on Monday. Tampa Bay is allowing more than 230 passing yards to opponents on average, and St. Brown will be the target for several Jared Goff throws. Take him to surpass the higher-than-expected receiving prop total.
| Player | Prop | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Jahmyr Gibbs | Over 96.5 Rush Yards | |
| Jahmyr Gibbs | Under 98.5 Rush Yards |
Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs UNDER 61.5 Rushing Yards
The Lions’ two-headed running back monster is led by Jahymr Gibbs. The 5-foot-9 player leads Detroit with 390 rushing yards on 87 carries, and he’s scored four rushing touchdowns in 2025. He’s also caught 23 of his 25 targets for 112 receiving yards and another score.
After a poor showing against Green Bay, Gibbs has finished with at least 54 rushing yards in five straight games. He’s amassed over 60 yards in four of those five outings, including last week’s loss to Kansas City.
Tampa Bay is among the best rushing defenses in the league, yielding less than 90 rushing yards per outing. Even the Eagles and their vaunted rushing attack was stymied by the Buccaneers. That’s what makes Gibbs a poor option to exceed his rushing prop bet on Monday.

Best Bet: Tampa Bay (+6)
The loss to Kansas City was a stinging defeat for the Lions. After earning the top seed in last year’s playoff picture, Detroit fans felt their franchise could repeat and perhaps make their first-ever run to a Super Bowl.
Still, Tampa Bay is the class of the NFC right now. Oddsmakers have a near-touchdown spread against the Buccaneers, which is too high for these top-tier teams. Take the Lions to win by a field goal, allowing Tampa Bay to cover the 6.5-point spread.
