Week 13 of the NFL season has been crazy. There have been a few upsets thus far, and the Sunday Night Football game was a snowy matchup for the ages. With Christian McCaffrey falling to injury early in that game, will the San Francisco 49ers even make the playoffs?
While we wait to find out the answer to that question and many more, we still have one game left this week: the battle between the Denver Broncos and the Cleveland Browns. The Browns might be effectively eliminated from playoff contention, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to play spoiler to the Broncos, who are still in line for a wild-card spot.
Considering tonight’s game, we’ve studied the board intently and put our favorite player props together. Let’s sweep the player props tonight and end Week 13 on a positive note!
After the failed Russell Wilson experiment in Denver, fans were worried that the team was cursed at the quarterback position. People were skeptical when they drafted Bo Nix, but to much surprise and excitement, Nix has been much better than anticipated this year.
He’s firmly in the hunt for the Offensive Rookie of the Year race, and the Broncos are in playoff contention largely due to his contributions. We love Nix’s chances of having a massive performance against the Browns tonight, especially when looking at what he’s done all season.
Nix has thrown for 225+ yards in three of his past games, which is one positive sign. Another is that the Browns have allowed four straight opposing QBS to achieve at least 225 yards, which gives us that much more confidence in him hitting the over tonight.
The Broncos are six-point favorites in this game for a reason. Oddsmakers are relatively confident in their ability to win this game with ease, which means they are fading the Browns’ chances of winning.
With that in mind, a negative game script means a lot of passing attempts for Jameis Winston, a gunslinger by every definition of the word. Winston isn’t afraid to throw the ball at will, even if it means that some of his passes end up in the arms of opposing players.
Look for him to complete at least 22 passes in this game, doing whatever he can to keep the Browns in it.
This play goes right in line with our decision to take the over on Winston’s passing completions. Winston and Jerry Jeudy have quickly become a dynamic duo, connecting for at least five receptions in four straight games.
Jeudy is the No. 1 target in Cleveland with Winston under center, and in a game where they’ll likely need to throw the ball a lot, he should get peppered with targets, easily eclipsing the over in this spot.
